Burning smell from a vacuum usually comes from the belt....check for any objects caught between the belt and the brush roll. Is the surface selector at the correct setting?

Nope, not a seal problem, just natural good old fashioned natural gravity. I know it doesn\'t take long for it to start leaking after use but Bissell covers this in the manual. Thoroughly clean the unit, run clean rinse water through every cycle and empty all tanks and cavities after use. Do not leave water in any of the tanks when not in use. What doesn\'t leak on your floor (which doesn\'t take long) could cause permanent blockages in the lines. It\'s a pain, I know, but I use the garage or back deck to park and prep mine after use.

If you remove the motor and match it with a generic motor or contact a spares department and ask them if they can sell you one.

I do not 'fix' broken hoses, I replace them.

Question edited into written English. This question appeared fine. Fixya has some filters on certain words.It is called a 'Profanity Filter' but doesn't mention which word fell foul of it as it used to. Many common words, or misspelled words often get flagged. On the shop vac there should be 2 places to insert the hose. One for blowing air and the other for suction.

There is a short internal hose that goes from brush head to the inspection port on rear of machine. Remove silver sole plate on bottom of brush head to get access to this hose and pull out what ever is blocking it.

Check jet nozzle hast got anything stuck in it eg grit

If your sure there definitely is no blockage in the wand or brush head clean or replace filter.

If brush won't turn freely by hand then the brush roller bearings have seized up. You will need new brush roller.

This is usually caused by blockage or dirty filter. Try removing wand and brush head then switch on if machine still pulses pull out top conical filter switch on again if it stays running it will be the filter needs a good clean or replacing. I'm taking it that the bin is empty . if machine runs ok with filter in and wand removed check brush head and wand for blockages.

If this has gradually got worse it will be the rollers on the brush head sole plate either warn away or come off so that then makes the brush head to close to floor / Carpet.

You will need a new hose for this.

Make sure the roller isn't getting jammed up by anything wrapped around it. There's a connection for the power roller head that can get fouled up, causing the circuit not to work properly. Make sure it's clean and has a solid connection. Also make sure you push down on the nozzle to ensure it's connected properly during use.
