Franklin Freezer Chef FIM70 Commercial Ice Maker Questions & Answers
Not making Ice
Are you getting any heat from the condenser? Sounds like the buzzing is the compressor failing to pump.
Need a new water pump and can't find one
If you are having trouble finding a direct replacement for this model you are not the only one. My suggestion is to remove the old pump and go to
Graingers or in the store and take the old pump in and get a direct or similar replacement.I think that you will find that finding a replacement might result in having to make some small modification to install the replacement, however parts are not readily available for this model any longer.
Our freezer stopped working and we lost a whole
Hi, It sounds as though the compressor has stopped working on this unit. I would call the department of consumer affairs and give them the information that you do have and they will make sure you get you're warranty honored. They do not mess around!! Just get the number through you information number and they will get right on it as that is what they are there for. Keep me posted,
Sincerely,

My FIM70 will not produce
Hi jerisaab,
If the unit won't produce ice, it is often caused by a bad water supply to the unit or a bad water valve on the unit. The easiest way to correct this is by disconnecting the water supply. Now if you have a strong water supply coming from the water line then replace the water valve, if not then replace the water line. You may also check if the circulating fan is working. If they stuck, use a WD 40 then work it back and forth a little.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Hello
Ice may jam up in an ice dam and close off the chute. Shove the ice scoop up into the chute with a fair amount of force to break up the ice dam. Chunks of ice should fall into the bin, followed by a shower of ice cubes.

Part number 38 in the link is water pump. This is the part you require.--------
But you will have to get this part ordered from local appliance repair center. The stores which deals with refrigerator/ freezer repairs. They will not have original part, but they will provide you the near to same pump, which will work for you.You will have to take the old pump to them, as per that pump they will provide you replacement pump.--------- But it will take some time. You will not get it urgently, because this part is stopped by its manufacturer.

I have 3 FIM70 ice
These ice makers should be cleaned occasionally. I don't mean just pressing the clean button, although that is important too. If it isn't spraying enough water, then it won't form a thick enough sheet of ice. Here is a link to a manual. Buy some ice maker cleaner and follow the directions to clean it. Check the flow from the sprayer arm. You can compare water flow to one of your operating machines. Here is link to a manual.
