Changing belt on electrolux precision vacuum el8805

Remove the cover plate over the brush. some simple pull or drop down. What ever. Once exposed, the brush (Roller) will need to be pulled away from the frame sides. The brush ends are generally inserted in to plastic or rubber end plugs and must be pulled away from the case. Once away, the belt; is in one piece needs to be removed. One end is still around the vacuum motor shaft. Lit that off and discard it. Place a new drive belt at one end around the motor. Pull it down and attach the other potion to the brush roller and press the roller back in place. There is little movement of the Belt, and it must be tight, thus you may need to use e screwdriver to lift the roller in place.

I am vacuuming spackle dust from sanding walls and my electrolux canister continues to open. What should I do?

Fine dust from sparkle will clog a bag or filter very quickly even though the bag is not full or even close to full. The air can't pass through the bag so it is popping the door open. Drywall dust can ruin a vacuum motor very quickly. I use a shop vac style vacuum with a cartridge filter that still clogged up after just a few minutes of vacuuming the dust but I can take the filter outside and hit it against something and use a small soft brush to clean it.

How to replace an electrolux 6500 epic motor

To get to the motor you will need to remove the top cover. Take the rubber cover off each side of the vacuum to reveal the piece of plastic that is holding the top and bottom together. Pull the plastic piece on each side out to slide it out, remove the top so you can get to the motor.

I have a Electrolux el8500az. I recently replaced the belt. Now the beater bar isn't turning and I'm at my wits end. Would you be able to help me troubleshoot this and hopefully get it running. Thanks Connie

I assume that the motor turns on, but the bar does not spin. There was no indication if the bar could be moved when the motor is off.... Also ... how long did it work with the new belt? Since it is a new belt ... it should either be that the belt has come off of the motor shaft or the beater bar has seized. If the belt is off the shaft then you may be able to rotate the bar when off. If the bar has seized ... then turning the motor on can result in overheating the belt ... you may smell "burnt rubber" .... and the belt should not be reused. Take the bottom plate off and take a look if the belt is off or the bar has seized. If seized ... then reclean ... there can be hidden lint/hair/debris where the bar fits into the frame. Double check that the new belt was the correct one for your unit...a slightly larger belt will not provide enough traction to drive the beater bar. Helpful?
