The NV 500 Rotator does the same as the motor is located in the canister unit. I have one and it does the same. Check and change the filters, be sure the motor intake under the filters does not have hair or debris inside (this can happen if you don't change/wash filters frequently). You can clean the motor area by turning it upside down and shaking or with compressed air

To start off you need a special screw driver just to get inside the unit !!!

Question on my shark lift away onthe motor head swivel wasnt working so i took it apart and there was a blue wire and a yellow wire not hooked to anything were do these wires go

Take it to your local vac shop for analysis. Sounds like it's still clogged somewhere.
