Not enough on the bobbin to hold the thread, or not enough on the top tension to pull the thread to the center of the material. Do the bobbin first and get that right, and then adjust the top tension. 1st. remove the foot from the machine to give you working room. 2nd. get the long plate "throat plate" look at the under side, you will see 1 side the slide part crimp shut, this is the side that will be the front. 3rd. put the plate in place as it should be, then push it up thill it clear the metal clamp. 4th. use a screwdriver to lift the clamp metal so it fits into the grove of the plate, do this for both sides. needle plate. there is a fat stud and a small stud for the plate to fit in. take the plate and slide it under the fat stud, it will lift as its spring loaded, push it all the way and then the small stud will fit into the other side

Bent needle, bobbin inserted or wound wrong, damaged hook, or timing is off.

The foot pedal needs disassembly and cleaning. Inside there is a wire track that varies the voltage to the electric motor. They get dirty, but yours is also sticking.

Computerized sewing machines, like the 7422, don't usually need oiling. They used sealed bearings. The manual for the 7422 does not show any oiling/lubrication points. There is two distinct parts, the treadle part you operate with your feet and the sewing machine itself. They are joined by the belt. Both parts need lubrication with light machine oil. Remove the belt and lubricate the treadle, then test it runs smoothly. Then clean and lubricate the sewing machine making sure that runs smoothly using the handwheel. Then put the belt back on.

I'm not able to find a reference to a feed dog switch for your machine. Singer Athena 2000 Instructions Manual Page 9 Could possibly be accomplished using a special plate? The instructions do refer to a darning foot, so the machine should be able to deactivate the feed dogs.

All problems like that are usually caused by two reasons Incorrect threading or Incorrect tension As an outside reason it can be incorrect timing.

Sounds like there might be some thread stuck in the bobbin shuttle area. Refer to the users manual for your machine to see how to disassemble the bobbin shuttle and race to check for thread. It would be a good idea to put a drop or two of sewing machine oil on it while you have it apart.

Do you mean a Singer Futura Quartet SEQS-6000? If so, the sewing machine can't communicate with the Chrome OS. The drivers and software on the CD are only compatible with Windows. The initial software package was compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
