have your key checked to see if the chip is damaged. if the chip is fine check the reader in the ignition barrel. while you doing this or before or after check the fuse's in fuse box and the main engine fuse in the engine bay inside the black boxes. if you key rattles the chip has come out and you need to have it put back in place. the can come away from the key side inside the key sits next to the key metal.

The marks are one the shaft of the cams and not the sprockets. Below is a picture. When you have your # 1 pston up and you are at TDC on the lower end. The bore marks on the cams should point upward. Hope this helps....

Tricky really suggest getting a bentley repair manual well worth the money for the do it yourselfer. The issue is complex on different vehicles due to so many of them having wiring and electrontics tied into radios and then the computers. Bentley makes detailed wiring schematics also really suggest using mutimeters instead of test lights. If you go to the trunk check at the speakers write down the wire colors on both speakers then pull the door panels do the same that will give you left and right and of course front and back. Use a multimeter to test the remaining wires hopefully that should only be two for power and ground. Hope this helped.

Is it a transmission cooling line running to the radiator? If it is you will lose a little transmission fluid after removing and replacing top off the trans fluid per bmw specs.

Sounds like the car may have a possible ground issue or you may have a component sticking causing a drain on the battery. Sometimes the altenator regulator sticks and can cause it to go bad or the starter solenoid can partialy hang causing this. first you need to determine the draw. Disconnect the ground cable hook a standard test light up between the negative cable and negative post. The light should not light up if it does you have a bad component somewhere start by disconnect the altenator and so on. happy hunting

Check for power going to the seats using a multi meter. check the fuses also have found that the switches go bad due to broken or just corroded contacts in them.

had the same problem once. battery dead the procedure for the drivers lock didnt work so i had to jack the jar up hooked up jumper cables to the hot lead on the starter and the negative to the engine block from underneath. walla power to the locks!WARNING USE A JACK STAND!

p0420 is the catalytic converter low efficiency bank 1 and p0430 is the same just bank2, so it boils down to your catalytic converter may be u/s and needs replacing

Have you already checked the refrigerant level? Sometimes if it is low, you will only get cooling on one side of the dash.

It's a transmission code. It may be as simple as a bad TPS sending a wrong signal or as costly as your valve body needing service. dealer time.
