win 10 up grades are causing problems
it is better if you get win 10 and instal it as a stand alone rather than an upgrade

a factory reset will delete
all of your user data, which includes pictures, videos, and music saved to your internal memory.
Hopefully it is backed up before your phone locked up
as you will lose it !

this link below might reset it but I am not sure as you might have different model number on your phone.but it might work
http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/VS980/Userguide/075.html
otherwise internet search on google for
{your model number' factory reset

Check the remote to make sure it is not being activated. Check the Digital input to make sure the little caps on the cable ends are removed and the cables are seated. Check the other remotes to be sure they are not interfering with it. Last but not least cover the sensor for the remove with a small piece of foil to make sure nothing is activing it, if it is a UV remote.

so it has power ?
is p.c ?vga display output ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector
is monitor vga input ?
or is p.c only hdmi output ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

if vga on both you need a vga cable
if hdmi on both you need a hdmi cable
if pc is VGA and the monitor is hdmi then an adapter is needed
if p.c is hmdi and monitor is vga then an adapter is needed

suggest figure out video cable standards and then decide on what you need
as shop will need to know what standards are used VGA or HDMI ?

Inspect the main circuit board for a blown capacitor, you would look for a small burn mark about the size of a pencil eraser.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Did you try a hard stop? Hold the power button down for five to ten secs until all functioning stops, wait five secs then try to power it back up? I'm no laptop expert, but that has helped me a few times here and there.
