How can i switch video mode in canon 400d, 10 mpxl?
Use the "Video system" command in the Setup-2 menu to switch the video output between NTSC and PAL. This is for playing back your still photos on a TV.If you're asking how to switch the 400D into video recording mode, the 400D doesn't record video. Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but that's the way it is.
Err 99 shooting is not
Welcome to Fixya
Err 99 could mean several different things, such as... Memory Card, Lens or Lens contacts....
Here's what you can try:
Remove the memory card an enable "shooting with out memory card" and see if you still get the error. If it works your memory card is bad. Try another lens if you can. Clean the lens contacts with a pencil eraser (be careful not to get eraser dust in the camera body or in the lens). Worst case scenario is, Err 99 could be related to the shutter failing which would mean a trip to Canon.

Hi,, The LCD display on
Hi.
Yes, that often means that there is an in internal fault.Either the display or the circuit powering the display is defective. The repair involves disassembling, and there is chance to damage the camera.
Try resetting the camera. One way is by removing main battery and removing also the coin battery located in a slot near to main battery. This will reset all settings. I don't think it will fix the problem.
If that does not work the camera must be disassembled. Testing is difficult. The tech just summary tests the board at the back for this kind of problems. If there is nothing at a glance, the LCD included in the back-panel gets replaced first. If that doesn't work the back-board is next.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Canon ZoomBrowser or any other photo cataloging program.
I have a CF err on my Canon Rebel XTI
If your camera uses a compact flash card, then something is wrong with it. Possible causes:
card needs formatting in camera (this will erase it)
one or more pins inside camera are bent.
Card was erased or formatted on computer instead of camera.
I would just like to find out how to set aperture
The REBEL is Either aperture or shutter priority.
You can set this up via the menu
There is a rule of thumb and it also depends on the ISO ( ASA or film speed) iF IN LOW LIGHT USE A HIGHER ISO say 200-1000
and an aperture set from ap ring on lens a good all round setting is F8
the rule for Apertures is smaller the number larger the aperture ( lets more light in, but in high iso settings you really dont need to change this unless its really dark,
Larger the number smaller the aperture used for very bright light conditions, where over exposure is likely to occur ( even in flash )
Flash automatically uses F8 but this is not always ideal as when shooting in some lights at a white object ( wedding) the pic will be overexposed , sometimes its better to use F11 with a flash and an ISO of 100. Perhaps you need to get an easy photo guide book Digital Photogreaphy for Dummies ( no insult intended) It has a lot of these little tips in it and will improve your pics beyond "Happy Snaps"
Changing the exposure is to use the aperture ring on the lense most are from F2-F22 depending on the focal length of the lens say 50 mm 150mm - 200mm for each size lens one would increase the F stop by 1 or add and EV point (+01) to compensate for the length.
Hope that is helpful for you
