It probably is not worth trying to salvage it, which is the reason you received a refurbished unit. It would really depend on what is wrong with it. Unless you are trained to handle refrigerant, I would recommend you not trying to mess with the compressor.Unless it had a leak, it should be under pressure, which could hurt you if you attempt to open it up. As far as the rest of the system goes you may use parts off of it to make repairs on the refurbished unit, should the occasion arise, providing it is the same model.

Bottom blower dose not go on

you should have two wires that go to a capacitor for turning the motor the right way durring start up then you should have two wires for run current. Now my motor has red and blue as the run voltage and blue and a white wire to the capacitor -6uf+/-10-5%@250AC. This cap is mounted on your fan shroud and refer to you top motor wire configuration, as both blower motors is in like the same wire colors to cap. Now my lower motor keeps blowing the thermal fuse and dose not overheat as the thermal needs at least 360 degrees of heat to blow yet my moter when running is not that hot.... I would replace the motor and cant seem to find one where did you find yours.

Check the pressures in the system as there may be a problem with the high/low pressure switches that is causing the compressor to stop working to protect the unit. You may be getting liquid on the piston tops and this is causing the compressor to lock up. Over supply of gas will cause this problem.

Sadly this company seems to be out of business, parts unavailable. You can get a little creative and make the pieces you need from off the shelf parts at lowes. I used a plastic pumbing fitting, some vent hose, two small metal brackets, zip ties, and thick foil tape to seal it.

What is a bottom blower?

the bottom blower in a PAC9 is the blower motor that sucks room air in through the bottom vents of the unit through the condenser. this air removes heat from the condeser and is blown out through the warm air vent duct. A common failure on windchaser units is the 'bottom blower squirrel cage' which is a plastic fanblade.

Air is not very cold

Inefficient cooling is probably caused by a dirty unit. Unplug and remove the entire rear cover and carefully clean both radiators with a vacuum cleaner. Thick sludgy dirt can be removed with a toothbrush and windex. Flushed with water. After you drain the unit thoroughly, reassemble and run in fan mode for awhile to let it dry out. You should be all set.
