Microsoft LifeChat ZX-6000 Wireless Headset Questions & Answers
ZX-6000 wireless receiver does not work with XP
Once everything is installed to the point where the XBox360 receiver is showing in the Device Manager (not under the sound, video, and game controllers section) I did the following.
- Pressed the sync button on the USB receiver to where the green light started blinking
- Pressed and held down the power button to turn on and force my headset to sync.
Once I did this the headset was detected, the four flashing lights turned solid, and an extra audio device showed up under the sound, video and game controllers section of the Device Manager.
I was then able to follow the following instructions, starting from Step 2, to setup my OS to use the headset: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935748
Microsoft really needs to work on documenting everything, like how to force the headset to sync. I wasted 15mins trying to get this working.
I hope this helps out others experiencing this issue and if you are thinking about purchaing this headset, it would do it from some place where you can return it. You may not find the sound quality to be any good.

Please tell me how to connect MS lifechat zx6000
a cd will come with the device..put the cd in, it will give you a step by step guide to install the device....part way through it it will tell you to plug the reciever part of the device into your computer....that should be the last step...after that, plug the head set into the ac adapter and wait 4 hours or over night for it to charge up....when it is complete, put it on, and click the call button on the side (middle button), the message will come up saying that the head set is being connected to the reciever...when its done, your good to go....if you have msn, and your online, a window will pop up asking you who you want to call

Can i use lifechat zx-6000 to play and listen to music played by GOM player?
Yea, you can, you need to co to control panel and under sounds set the 360 head set control which will be your microsoft wireless control to default....but the sound is crapy..it seems that the manufacturers never designed this device for that kinda sound, only those who are talking to you with another mic...so i suggest sticking with your speakers or a good set of ear phones

I have plugged in the USB cable and cannot seem to
you must wait for it to charge up...also...the device comes with its own driver so put that in even though the computer says it is ready to use...it will tell you how to set up the device....when its done...wait 4 hours or over night with the device pluged in and you should be good to go, press the call button on the side...the compter will either say its connected or a pop up window (if you are on msn) will pop up asking you who you want to call
