yes if there are only two wires they should be a red wire and a white whire the red wire goes on the new stat where there is a R and the white wire goes where there is a W thats it put the batteries in the new stat and set the time and date and turn it to heat and turn it up to 80 it should work if the wires are not color coded just put one of them to the R and the other to the W dont worry you can't shocked it is low voltage good luck

The thermostat is defective. The test button only confirms that the lamp works.

These type of displays are not ment to be seen in direct sunlight or with a lot of light directly on them.

The backlight in the unit is used for night viewing and i'm unaware of an adjustment for it. If you are looking for a unit that you can have exposed to direct sunlight then you need to get one designed for this that will have atleast 4000nits (brightness required to shine more than the sun).

I did a search and could not find anything on that particular model. But I found some things that may help. Hi, there is no provision as to brighting the display on your Honeywell Weather Station. What you are experiencing is faulty display that is gradually fading off and as time goes on it will be blank. So you should start planning on replacing the display....

They MAY know where you can get a manual as they used to repair rentals and do sell some manuals, etc. This does seem to be a hard one to find as none of the suppliers seem to have it and I suspect that Nyco thing will not copy one for you because they are in the repair business
