Physically can't plug into front usb ports on new Inspiron 660. port will not accept the plug,

I've only ever come across this once before as a technician, and it turned out to be the board, with the ports mounted on, not being set in quite the right place on the inside of the front pannel. I only had to push the board and it located. Hope this helps you.

When i turn on my Dell Inspiron 2400 Desktop Computer why won`t it start.

Is the computer plugged in to a known good power source with a known good power cord? Also, make sure the power is fully seated on both ends. When you press the power button are you getting any indicator lights? The power button itself has an LED that will be either solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber, or off. Do you hear any beeps?

The computer will boot up randomly with no assistance. Also doesn't boot right into Windows (must hit F1).

Could be a feature in the bios or a virus. I would do some research on the matter. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jason_70466cb634a57543

Recently acquired a Dell Inspiron 530s, having 2 problems. First, it won't boot right into Windows (Vista), asks to hit an F key (after hitting F1, it goes right into Windows). I went into Setup and a

It's a 'failsafe' - You will need to go back into the BIOS - double check the boot settings - and verify the HDD is set to Auto - make sure the RAM installed is the RAM shown on the boot screen. Ok, once that is done reboot 2x - hit no keys - if it request F1 to continue, CTRL/ALT/DEL reboot. - go into BIOS, go to boot options find the part that states "stop on error" and disable that... reboot. If that doesn't help Contact me here. I've other solutions to try as it is a DELL and I've dealt with them for years.

Password unknown

FYI, I know this is an old posting but you don't have to go to Dell Tech Support for password reset, just reset the CMOS password jumpers inside the computer. Not a difficult task at all, refer to the owner's manual for details on opening the computer, and for resetting the jumpers. Very easy solution, did it myself. Hope this helps.

Greetings, My Dell Inspiron 530S has a small

I did not look up the manual for this one. But most computers have a flashing light when the hard drive is accessed. When the drive is accessed you can hear it to. So looks to me you have a good working computer. If the sound of a hard disk is loud, you are in trouble. You should start making backups of everything if you did not do that before. If it is really just the fan, you should clean the fan and the inlet (outlet) of the airflow. most fans will accumulate dust and that will influence the warming up of the processor (your Dual-core E2160) causing the fan to run faster and faster, not capable to cool the processor enough. Often you can blow out the dust, without opening the computer, but if there stays dust in the commuter and you are not technical enough, please ask a technician to clean pup the compete airflow.

Retrieving administrator settings

Click start Control Panel.

Select "User Accounts and Family Safety," then "User Accounts."

Click "Turn User Account Control on or off."

Remove the check mark next to "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer."

Click "OK."

Set All Accounts to Administrator

Still in the UAC section of Control Panel, select "Manage another account," and click on a user account.

Click on "Change the account type." When working with multiple accounts, some changes can only be made if you and the account holder are both logged in with "Administrator" accounts so you need to change all user accounts to "Administrator."

When you are done making changes, you can change them back to "Standard," but always leave at least one "Administrator" account.

Select the "Administrator" radio button.

Click "Change Account Type" at the bottom right.

Repeat this procedure to change each user account to "Administrator." When all user accounts have been changed, close the Control Panel.

Create a Full Administrator Account

Click "Start" (the Windows Vista icon in the lower left of your screen). In the Search box, type "cmd". Right-click on "cmd," and select "Run as Administrator." An elevated command prompt window will appear.

At the command prompt, type "net user administrator /active:yes", and press "Enter."

Choose a password and assign it to the "Administrator" account, by typing "net user administrator 'password'", where 'password' is your selected password. For instance, if your password is "abc," type "net user administrator abc". Press "Enter."

Type "exit" and press "Enter."

Log off. When you log back into your "Administrator" account, you will have full rights.

hope this helps
