mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the blades need to be sharpened, refer to the shavers brand name plus .com for blade replacement or replace the shaver.

The stationary blades are held on by a couple of screws. Loosening these screws will allow some lateral movement of the blades. Adjust the blades till the proper alignment is restored. Just like scissors, there must be gaps between the moving and stationary blades at one point, then the moving blades close the gaps which cut the hair.

Go to the Andis website and look under the services section, find your clipper model and they will have an exploded view diagram of your clipper with each part listed and directions on where each part goes.

Take the upper blade off of the clipper, there will be four (4) screws which secure the adjustable part of the lever to the clipper. You can tighten these screws and that will control how much resistance you get when adjusting the lever.
