From what I've been reading, Navigon is pulling, or has pulled out of the US. They claim to still support map updates if you purchased a subscription but to spend $ on it now would be risky in my opinion

The battery can be replaced but it will require you to remove the old one and find a matching voltage and sized battery on ebay. you will have to change the connector to the one off the original battery pack. It has been a while since i have done one of this model but it can be done.

It is due to a software error. Reset the device and install the latest sofftware update from Navigon website.

The error code signifies that "You might want to check the hardware documentation for more information about diagnosing the problem"


If you are using a laptop, turn the computer off, remove the battery and put it back in after 30 secs. Turn the laptop on then connect the GPS.

If you are using a desktop, just hold down the power button until the computer shuts down. Turn it on again after 30 secs and connect the GPS.

If this does not work, I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. If this fails, update your BIOS.

Make certain you have the unit plugged into external power, and the indicator light (LED) is ON. It would be best if the LED shows "Green", indicating a full charge on the battery also.

Place a blunt-tipped object (larger paperclip or toothpick with sharp end cut off) into the hole at the reset location, which is on the bottom left part of the GPS. Press down for 10-15 seconds on the reset button, then release. Now, press and hold the On/Off/Standby for at least 6 seconds (try 10-15 seconds if needed) to power unit back on. do you still need help with this...as for your window mount, if it has clamp like holder, thats not the original for a 7100...it has to be an after market and all the ones made like that either have a little button on the side,back top or bottom to release it...some you have to push it a few times and it will expand a little at a time.

Activation cord is in the freshmaps activation card that comes with purchas of device.It is on the back of the card remove plastc with nail and you will get 15 digits number in 3block with 5 digits each.

I had the same problem and this fixed it: Connect the navigon to your computer and go into the files directory and create 3 new empty folders, as follows: (You may want to back up your navigon 1st) After i created these empty folders, I was able to go into settings and turn Stree names on

Create these empty folders within MN6\sound folder.

It is software problem and i posted solution to that problem it is same as fatal application error problem try that solution your device will up running.

you get repair or get device wihout sd card.

there is no need new software require higher gb atleast 4 and download updated softwre to new 4gb sd card.

when you open the device password box comes in you find small icon of look like hand set phone in white color hit on that and it will contact info and phone them to get password or guide to set new one.

it is fatal application error and I have put solution to that

I take it that you turned the unit off then back on? the illegal operation just means that it tried to do something and it was not programmed for that site or that function. It could be just a glitch but if the unit truely is screwed up i would suggest that you re-install the software and see if that helps. beyond that you will most likely have to go to the manufacturer. Sorry

use internet exporer as web and don't use firefox or the other.

Try holding the power button while plugging it in. Also try holding the power button while wiggling a mini screwdriver in the reset hole

I have put solution to fatal application error try that solution us IE as web brouser.

Take out the SD card, if that dosent work Ty plugging it into a computer sometimes that will reset it. I believe it is a problem with the maps when i got the updated second quarter maps it quite doing it.

I none of the above works, let the battery die and take out the SD card before running it on, then reinsert the card and it might work for awhile

you have to use cable comes with it.if you use other cable than it want'charge and let you go in for map while driving.
