When i try to turn on my ps3 it just beeps
Hello,
You can try the steps below. Its from PlayStation Forum:
1.
Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system
will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been
shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4.
When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will
be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS
button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.
The current Recovery
Menu supports:
• Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
•
Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
•
Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
•
Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
• Restore
PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
•
System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System
If the above
steps still does not solve the problem, then I think will have to update
your Ps3.
Update your PS3 (in the settings menu the 1st option).
Go
on the internet browser on the PS3 then go on the menu press triangle
then on one of them there are delete cookies and the delete the others
as
well as cookies.
You could also try this as well: put the
PS3 on then press the eject button (with no disc in) then hold it and
switch the PS3 off at the back with your finger on the eject button
still holding it, then put it back on and the fan test should be working
this may cool it down. It might be over heating.
But if your
problem is not still solved, then maybe you should call sony for further
assistance.
I wish you good luck

Red flashing light
its probably a internal problem, or possibly a harddrive error. try swapping the HDD with somebody elses and see if the red light goes away.
if it doesnt, that means it is an internal problem ( like the motherboard warping) and you have to send it in to sony if you have a warranty. if not itll cost $200 to get it fixed, OR, go here http://www.ylod.net and pay a fraction to learn how to fix it, and it tells you how to step by step so if you wanted to you could start repairing them and make some cash on craigslist or something.

Just download update from Playstation website to pc, and save on flash.
Ps3's power light is flashing and the system keeps
PS3 owners refer to this as the 'Yellow Light of Death' or 'YLOD'. It's quite common. The problem is caused by poor solder joints (due to overheating) on the motherboard and degrading heat sink compound on the fan.

If you've had this unit apart recently open it back up and make sure ALL ribbon cables and wiring harnesses are slotted correctly. I had an error code problem and it turned to be an incorrectly seated ribbon cable.
If that doesn't fix the problem try formatting the drive, it could be a corrupt file on the hard disk. Make sure you back up anything you want to save on a flash drive first.
My ps3 just went off while playing last night now

Power coming into it but game is not loading
This can be caused by a dirty laser in the drive. Try cleaning the laser with a q-tip and alcohol. If this does not fix the problem, the laser may need to be replaced. Contact Sony and see if the unit is still under warranty.
If the unit is not under warranty go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can clean/replace the laser for you. All of our repairs come with a 90 day warranty that covers the whole console not just what we repaired. We also offer extended warranties up to 4 years at additional cost. If you have any other questions/concerns feel free to email
[email protected] or call toll free 1-888-389-3038.
