The WEP key is the security access key on your wireless router. If you do not know what it is you will have to log into the router and look it up. Below is links to access the WEP on a Belkin and SMC router. IF you do not have those or not those models let me know and I will make a walk through for you. Just let me know the make and model of your router.

1. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI OUT port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI Input port of the TV or display monitor.
   
2. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive power button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light --> green light --> then back to red light). This will ensure that you have held down the power button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.
   
3. Turn on the PLAYSTATION 3 system and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

you can have a new connecter implaced to do so take it to a good electronics repair person it should only cost you aproxx $ 20 for the part plus there labour

unless you can find a great tech near you to repair the ribbon ( extrem hard to do but can be done ) call sony and order a new ribbon link cable

Probably overheated and fried either a chip or a resistor on the mother board. If you still have the valid warranty I would suggest turning it in back to sony. If not you might want to open it up, diagnose the problem and replace and broken part(s).

Check if your A/V (Audio Visual) Component cables are connected to the TV correctly and that your TV is set to the right input channel.

too many possible problems with out testing device could not provide you with answers. send for repair back to sony

maybe your system isnt reading the game at all. the game may have some scratches on it.

disk may be scratched Blu-Ray discs are extremely delicate, you could try finding a lense cleaner or just wait for another update.

Follow these steps to resolve your problem:

1. Turn off the PS3 so it only shows a red light. You can hold the power button on the front until it goes into standby. To be sure, flick the power switch on the back of the Play Station 3 off and then back on.

2. Make sure your Play Station 3 is connected to your regular TV (not HDTV) with the standard video cables.

3. Press and hold the power button until the screen "flickers" and then immediately release. This should reset the video settings.

4. Wait a few seconds, and the Play Station 3 (PS3) logo should appear.

If this does not resolve the problem, follow these steps:

it is the ylod caused by the lead free soldier they now use on the cpu. needs to be re-flowed, sent back to sony or sell for parts hope its helps you. also you tube ylod it will show you

Try cleaning it with a cd cleaner. if that doesn't work then you need to replace the blue laser.

you have to send it in to Sony's refurbish program. It's $150.00 and they send you another PS3

need to replace your laser. you can get them on ebay easy to fix. just google it. the 40 gig is a 410 but if you take it apart it will say on the laser

Sadly there isn't much the average user can do to fix this problem.

It's hardware related. You can try powering on the system with the hard drive removed, but it's VERY rare that will solve your problem.

Those are DIY guides but if you're not up for the challenge I would highly recommend getting the machine fixed direct through Sony.

Dont use the switch when your game is saving or anything is downloading because you could corrupt the saved game/download (I don't think it'll let you turn it off from the front button when it's writing to the hard drive- the switch in the back actually cuts off the power.).
