Generally what happens is that progress will stall whilst you are trying to update the firmware or software/games on your PS3, causing it to be corrupted. In your System Options/Network Settings you need to go and disable a setting called "media server". Doing this has been reported to fix the PS3 system update error in a number of different cases.
If you are using a wireless network connection then switch to a wired connection and attempt to update your console. Wireless connections can have interference, or fail from time to time. Therefore it is better to use a wired Internet connection where possible.
As a last ditch resort you can actually download the update from the Sony website onto your PC, then load that update onto a USB stick and plug it into your PS3 and carry out the update process from there. However, it is best to actually try and fix your connection problems first.

On Modern Warfare 2 I have a STRICT N.A.T type.

PS3 And XBOX :: BELKIN

Step 1:Connect Modem - Router - Computer (Wired)

Step 2:Open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 3:On the Left click firewall

Step 4:Leave the Password blank and click submit

Step 5:Disable it and click apply changes

Step 6:Scan and connect in the Xbox/PS3/Wii

Step 7: Get the IP Address of the Xbox/PS3/Wii

Step 8:Open Router Setup in the Computer

Step 9:On the left under Firewall Click DMZ

Step 10:Enable the IP Address of the Xbox/PS3/Wii in it

Step 11:Click Apply Changes

Step 13:On the left Under Utilities click System settings

Step 14:Scroll down to the bottom

Step 15:Enable UPnP

Step 16:Click apply changes

Step 17:Test the connection ,Check the NAT

If working then let me know

At the middle Under internet settings check the WAN IP

IF it starts with 192.168. or 172.16 Then you will have to contact your internet service and ask them to bridge the modem

Keep losing internet connection

Hi Dave,

I got your issue , You have mentioned that you are losing the internet connection through the router .

To fix this issue You need to update the firmware on the router . I have given you the link to download the firmware from the website

1.You have not mentioned the version number of the router , so please check the version number (in the bottom of the router)

For example: If its version 4000, then you have to download 4xxx firmware which is in the link.

2.After downloading the firmware from the website, save this file in a location where you can easily identify(eg: desktop)

3.connect the comp to the router with the ethernet cable to the router in any one of the wired slot and open the browser(eg: Internet explorer) and in the address bar type 192.168.2.1 and enter.
you will be logged into the router setup page.

4.Look on the left side of the page under Utilities , click on firmware update

5. then if its asking for login password, leave the password as blank and click on submit.

6. then click on browse and choose the file from the location where you save and then click update.

Once after firmware update you will not have any problem in loosing connection. please try this I'm sure it will work.

And IF it is a router then Open The Ports

802.11n problem.

Hi,
Please follow the mentioned step to check if the Wireless card is installed properly
Step 1 :
> click on start (assuming it to be a windows OS)
> right click on "my computer" and select "Properties"
> you will have the system Properties window pop-up
> under the Hardware tab, click on Device manager button
> under the device manager list look for network adapters
> you should now be able to see your wireless card under network adapter - check if the adapter is enabled ( if not kindly enable by right clicking on the adapter)
> once the adapter is active - it will have a green icon with not error on it.
> Now try to search for the network again - this should work..

ok... so I've now installed this on my new pc that i built... first in order to get it to install at all you must download DirectX 7.0 and right click to "--(edit compatibility settings to windows 98/Me and run as administrator)--" remember this as well be doing it a few times. once you do that install DirectX 7.0 and say yes to all. now that this is installed take the .iso file you have and burn it to a cd or DVD-r, once burned you need to go to my computer and right click on the cd/DVD drive, select open (NOT open autoplay), inside the disc menu i want you to go to 2 files... "setup" and "start" need to also have their compatibility settings changed to the above settings. now that these are set stay in the cd menu and double click "setup" this will take you through the setup procedure. after the setup procedure is finished do not view the notes, and continue back to the desktop. now from your start menu load the game and it should run

How do I Reset my Belkin wifi Extender?

Using the reset button The location of your range extender's reset button will vary depending on its model. The reset begins once you press and hold thereset button for at least 10 seconds while the range extender is powered ON. The Status Light on the the range extender will momentarily flash and will then begin to blink. When the light becomes solid again, the reset is complete. Using the web-based setup page If using the physical button does not work, you can access the range extender's web-based setup page and do the reset from there. Before you begin:

Make sure that the wireless computer or device you're using to access the web-based setup page is connected to the same network as the range extender.
You need to identify the IP address that your router has assigned to your range extender. Locate this by accessing your router's DHCP Client table. Once you have the range extender's assigned IP address, use it to access your range extender's web-based setup page.
Alternatively, you can enter "http://192.168.206.1" in the web browser's Address bar if your range extender has NOT detected a DHCP server in your network.

Step 1: In the web-based setup page of the range extender, go to Utilities and select Restore Factory Defaults. QUICK TIP: You may be prompted to log in with your range extender's administrator password. If you have not set any, simply leave the field blank and click on Submit. Step 2: Click on the Restore Factory Defaults button. Your Belkin range extender should now be restored to its factory default settings.
