My flashdisk can't be formated

Any disk can be formatted if you have the appropriate software.
The SanDisk Cruzer Micro comes with a security software that the owner can enable. If it is enabled, you cannot open it under Windows unless you enter the correct password . Also, if the security is enabled, you cannot even open it under Linux or Mac OS. An if you cannot open it you cannot format it. I do not know if that answers your question or if that is the real reason you cannot format it. That is one possibility.

Hi , My san disk

Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive,BUT you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

When i plug my 4g cruzer micro usb memory stick

Try a different USB device on each of the USB ports on your computer.
Hopefully, all your USB ports are working correctly.

Try a different USB port on your computer.
Hopefully, the SanDisk will be detected on one of the ports.

Try a USB port on a different computer.
If the SanDisk still is not detected, then spend $10 to buy a new 4GB flash-drive.

Some flash-drives imitate a CD-disk (which, after being written and "closed", always show up as having "zero bytes free space"), in order to automatically run some software from the flash-drive each time that the flash-drive is connected to a computer. For example, that "auto-run" software may be a file encryption/decryption routine, requiring you to enter a password to access your files.
So, if you "lose" the flash-drive, whoever finds it cannot access your files, without having your password.

Hello, I have Sandisk Cruzer blade

Copy all the files from it to your 'C:' drive, and burn the files to one DVD-recordable disk.
Then, responsibly recycle the SanDisk, and spend $10 to buy a new flash-drive.
Copy the files from the 'C:' drive, or the DVD disk onto the new flash-drive.
Keep multiple copies of your files, just in case this "new" flash-drive also "fails".

How to rcover from my sandisk back to my library

1. Does the flash drive LED light up when you plug it into various computers? ( not just your own fortesting purposes).

2. Does it pop up in windows explorer at all? ( Should be labeled as Removable Disk by default)

Your flashdrive may have essentially died. Test this flashdrive on multiple computers to determine whether its your computer or the flash drive. If you are trying to recover information try out the app Recuva which can be found on google search. Your information may have been corrupted.

Hi,
This error message comes up when you plugged in your USB Flash drive into a lower version of a USB port. Try using another port in your machine, ports that are USB 2.0 compatible and you shouldn't see this error again.
By the way, there are old motherboards which does not have ports for USB 2.0. You might want to check your motherboard user guide and see which ports runs at 2.0. If there is none, I'm afraid that the only way around it is to upgrade into a better motherboard.
Hope this help.

4 Gb Sandisk flash drive won't read and won't

I've had some luck getting this to work again by using the linux ext2 format utility to format it back to the windows fat16 format, then use windows to format it again. There is something that windows doesn't like about the fat table when ext2 does it so you need to do this double format. Doesn't work all the time but does quite a bit.

Sandisk U3 Cruzer Micro 4Gb

With your computer on and the SD Flashdrive fitted correct side UP in the USB port, go to 'My Computer' on the desktop and select the flash drive. The computer will ask you what function you want to perform on the drive and you must select 'format.' You did not say what kind of operating system you are using or I could give you more information. Let me know what happens,

I have a 32GB sandisk

Sorry but you wont be able to put a file larger than 4gb due to file format limitation since you used fat32. only NTFS supports files larger than 4gb. if you want to use it with large files you need to format again using NTFS. hope that helps!
