Make sure the lock notch on the memory card is in the unlocked position. it is a small notch on the one end of the card, should slide back and forth lock/ unlock. if this doesnt work try to put the memory card in a card reader and see if you can browse files on the card, if you cant, the card is probably gone bad..
Hidden files not showing in
Hi friend,
As you have mentioned that you are not able to access the hidden files on the memory stick. I wpuld like you to check if the hidden files are being hidden in the OS settings or not.
In order to check that when you will open the folder of memory stick, go to folder options and in the folder options make sure that the Hidden files options is not checked.
If it is checked please uncheck it refresh the windows explorer and the files will be displayed
I'm using a Sandisk 1gig

Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Hello,
Hello. This is an easy problem to solve. the SD type card has a slider to one side that you slide away from the pins to lock it's contents. Unfortunately on some of the cheaper and some sandisk cards the slider breaks and falls off/inside the card. The purpose of this slider is so that the device reading it can decide whether or not it can write to the card. Much like the write protect on the old floppies it has no physical link to anything within the card its purely to tell the device how it should deal with the card.
The fix is simple, some say that tape over the indent on that side of the card will work, but you will need strong tape and this will fail with use as it is constantly under pressure from the write protect sensor arm in the device reading/writing the card. I've found that the best fix is to cut a bit of rigid plastic about 1.5mm thick by 4mm wide by 8mm long and using that to fill the entire indent on the side of the card, either by holding this in place with a bit of electrical tape or a more permanent way with super glue. Joe ps please rate my answer as very helpful. thanks
