Soft cloth is a bad thing because it leaves scratches on disc. have you tried other games? If it loads the problem was just the game, just buy another one, if all games are not running it might be your console, please find a local electronic repair shop or service center near you and let them take a look to determine what is the actual problem..

This just worked for me..... unplug all leads etc from the back of the console, hold the unit 6inches from the floor (carpet surface - not a hard floor) the front of the panel facing the carpet and drop it........ If its still under warranty send it back - if not give it a go!

get a firmware update at the place you bought it .. if that doesnt work im sorry mate but you just got buggered by the guy who sold you your game

this is a hardware issue contact xbox and have them repair it. it should be free since this is an initial setup I am assuming you just bought it.

Try the following solutions.
1. make sure your disc is clean.
2. clean the drive's laser with any disc cleaner.
3. Replace the laser on the drive.

It just means that you don't have microsoft messenger set up on the xbox for chatting purposes. Generally you have an account outside of your xbox that you can then use through your xbox to text chat with friends and such. You can set up the messenger through xboxlive.com generally if you don't do it through your xbox. Most people don't use this feature of the xbox as the xbox has it's own message system that isn't instant text chat but instead voice chat.

OK, well when you removed the Power you corrupted the read/write cycle of the Xbox. The only thing you can do, is to delete these files and that will sort you out. You will NEVER be able to sort it any other way, I am sorry to tell you. please try the below procedure, this should get you working again.
Turn on your Xbox 360 console.
Access the Xbox 360 dashboard, go into "system settings," then into the "memory" option and find your gaming profile.
Delete profile if it is shown as corrupted. The profile is damaged.
Sign out of your profile if you are already on. Press the Xbox guide button, press the X button and select the option "Yes, sign out."
Go into the "My Xbox" section of the dashboard.
Select the option "Recover Gametag" in the Xbox 360 dialog box. Press the A button on your controller to select the option. Follow the instructions to repair your profile.
Enter your Gamertag in the "Xbox Live Gamertag" dialog box that pops up.
When the process is completed, your avatar will appear in the "sign in" area of the dashboard.

All you got to do is go to settings, memory and gamer profiles. The corrupted one should be marked wth a caution sign.
MAKE SURE YOU'RE SIGNED IN TO LIVE!
Next, delete the profile that's corruped. Be sure to choose \"Profile Only\", not \"Profiles and items\" or your saves wll get deleted.
Then, recover your profile fom the main Xbox360 Dashboard, not Xbox360 Guide.
Lastly, enter your details, recover and pray that you account is still in one piece.

It is possible the servers are down. If you can connect to LIVE, this is probably not your problem.

if you wana say that you installed a game on your xbox elite and run on different profile.it works fine
but as you used a differenr xbox but older hdd(elite hard drive).your profile runs but installed games not.
BECAUSE THAT GAME IS NOT ORIGNALY INSTALLED ON THAT DVD DRIVE,you are using.delet it and installed again.onlt game not save files
it will use your save files.

if other games run ok then
1. if your xbox says OPEN TRAY then its mw2 disk problem may b scratch on disk.clean the disk
2. if you have a moded xbox and other games run and mw2 is not and your xbox says PLAY DVD you need to update your flashing to wave 4
