This is just one of MANY solutions to your problem. It could be also that your router is AutoRenewing which is not easily identified as an issue on your computer but can be a big issue on your Xbox Live as it will disconnect you every time it attempts to AutoRenew.

First you would have to connect your Xbox to the internet. Steps for this can be seen on xbox.com. Assuming you have already connected it to the internet, you can either purchase an Xbox live gold membership with a credit card on xbox.com, or use a prepaid subscription card and enter the code on the xbox live marketplace. Have you tried the button on the console as well as trying to get it to open from your xbox controller?

Have you tried disconnecting the HDMI cable from both the TV and the console and then trying to reconnect?

Y+RT does not reset controllers for the Xbox 360, so not sure what you are attempting there?

What type of TV do you have? It appears the issue is with either your cable or the TV seeing that you are having the same issue with both your PS3 and Xbox 360.

I still think your first step should be to disconnect all cables from both ends and reconnect. (with poer off of all sytems of course) If this doesn't solve your issue then submit further information on your setup such as TV make and model and I can research other possibilities.

go into your network settings and reset them on your xbox.
Delete the current settings and try to reconnect.

it means your xbox is overheating, you can send it back as they extended the warranty on it for this common fault unless you have modified it, in which case look up ring of death on youtube.

It may be that you accidentally deleted your gamer tag. try recovering it from Xbox live. if you deleted your tag you may have also accidentally deleted your saves too which you cannot recover.

So you have a 3month live membership and are positive you still have Xbox live but cant seem to play with anyone online.
This can only be because you have either been banned from Xbox live for what ever reason or you simply ran out of your 3 months

I am not sure exactly, but try cleaning the disc, otherwise contact xbox support at xbox.com, they actually DO help.

make sure the games are free of finger prints or debris. if there are large scratches on either side of the game you xbox may not be able to read the disc. if you have an older xbox it may be that its just dying and the lens is going out. when xbox first came out they had a 50% failure rate over one year, so it may be that. if its within two years of the date of purchase, then your warranty should still be good and xbox will fix it.

Hi there,

First, take out the XBOX 360 and place it so it's sitting horizontal. Do not set it down as it appears in the photo above. A lot of people who do this don't realize that they are covering the air vents, giving your console much less battery life. (In other words you might turn it on one day and see the awful Red Ring of Death.)
Once you do that, take out the cables. The best image you can get is going to be with an HDMI cable. That looks like this:

Then take out the power cable. It's the cable that's attached to a big gray box. Plug that into the back of the 360, then plug the other end of it into a surge protector. Do not plug it into a wall because if you have a power surge, you may end of frying a component inside your 360.

Once you have done that, put two AA batteries into the controller. (There should be a clip on the back of the controller that comes right off. The batteries go in there.) Make sure you put them in the right way as labeled on the controller or it won't work.

Once you've done this, turn on the 360, then turn on the TV. Change your TV to the appropriate HDMI Channel and watch how well your kid learns in just a short amount of time. :)

Hi there,

Try a different disc. The reason I say this is because if you try a different disc and it's still unreadable, then you have a problem with the laser lens inside your 360 and it needs to be cleaned. This voids the warranty so you aren't going to find any advice from Microsoft on how to do this. If you Google "Cleaning the Xbox 360 Lens", you will come across a ton of articles and YouTube videos on cleaning the lens.

However, if the other disc works then the problem is with the disc itself. It may be dirty or it may be cracked. If it's dirty, take some rubbing alcohol and a soft piece of cotton material to clean the disc.
