Model # DS3111-2
Everything works fine except the time stamp for logged calls is exactly 4 or 5 hours behind. The minutes are correct. There doesn't appear to be any way to change the time using the handset and the manual says nothing about it. Is it possible to change the time, or is it set by something else which is beyond the user's control?. I'm using a Voip service over DSL.
My vtech phone will not keep the correct time, I can change the time and when a call is received it shows the wrong time or no time stamp at all.
My vtech DECT 6.0 has the same problem, but mine changes the time to three hours behind after an incoming call. It is as if it is on pacific time. I am on EST. I contacted vtech and their response was check the time on the computer since I have a VOIP line which I did and maybe the power went out which it did not. The next e-mail from them was sorry your unit is malfunctioning here is a link to get a replacement.

Singerjaxfl, I used to have the same problem with my Vtech DECT 6.0 phone. I solved it by changing the system time on my VOIP Adapter.
In order to do that, you need to (1) know the IP address of your VOIP Adapter (the manual should have it, or ask its manufacturer), and (2) have the Admin authority (again, the manual or manufacturer) to change system time.

The CS5113 isn't an answering machine. However, it works with the voicemail system offered by your telephone company. Please contact them for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

How can I use the mic and speaker on the base (not the handset) to make and/or answer calls?
Unless your model specifically says it's a speakerphone, you can't do that. The base mic and speaker are only there for recording your outgoing message and listening to your messages. If it is a speakerphone, there should be a button on the base to activate it.

Here is the User's Manual. There isn't any Speaker option on your version phone, that is due to the fact that you have an old version.
