Yamaha Full-Size Keyboard - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I need to remove the cover from my Yamaha DGX 505
So I know this questions is well over a decade old now and that if you can't figure out how to open the keyboard, maybe you shouldn't be messing around inside it, but I also was puzzled on how to open it for a little while before figuring it out. It should open once all the screws are out, however, while most screws are visible just from looking at it from the bottom, there are about 6 more screws that aren't immediately visible - there are 2 inside the battery compartment and 2 behind each of the black wooden panels that house the speaker compartments. Be slow and careful when opening it up as there are connections that go across the two case pieces (open it with the keys facing next to you and lift it up slowly). I needed to fix a C key that was always playing too loud and I don't have professional repair money. I was able to figure out what was broken and fix it just by comparing it to other keys. I've been working on my PC parts as a gamer since I was like 10-years-old though so I'm familiar with the necessary precautions with circuit boards. I don't think it's *that* complicated or dangerous as some people here like to make it out to be. Don't touch it with metal while it's powered on, discharge electrostatic charge from yourself by touching something else metal before touching the circuit boards and/or wear an electrostatic-reducing wrist band, use isopropyl alcohol to clean (not water), don't power it on until it's completely dry, be gentle and don't bend any metal or components.

Hold down top C key whilst turning, this initiates a factory reset so any settings you have made resulting in the smear should be returned to normal.

I just used them to by some parts for a Clavinova and they were in stock, accepted credit cards and delivered within 24 hours.
Yamaha 88 key piano grand plays wrong pitches w/ changing volume
If it has a sequencer/ recorder built in, you have the ability to change the pitch/ detune by using some key strokes after initiating the program mode. If your not sure how to do that, try unplugging the keyboard for thirty seconds and push the power button while it's unplugged, then plug it back in. Any better? What model is it.
Yamaha digital piano keys
Depending where you are, you gotta check with your Yamaha distributor, or else on Amazon. Then get a tech to take the thing apart (ugh) and replace them keys.
Good luck from Venezuela....
The Sustain pedal does not work.
When push comes to shove, a factory reset never hurts.
Assuming you'd like to proceed with a factory reset, follow these steps:
This procedure makes it possible to restore the S08 to the original factory-installed Internal Voices, Multis and System settings.
WARNING: The current settings for all Multis and User Voices will be deleted. If the current settings and data are not expendable, create a backup before executing the Factory Reset.
1) Press the [UTILITY] button.
2) Press the [JOB] button. The 'FactorySet' screen will be displayed.
3) Press the [ENTER] button. The 'Sure?' message prompt will appear.
4) Press the [INC/YES] button to execute the Factory Reset. The 'Completed!' message will be displayed to indicate the procedure has been successfully executed.
5) Press the [EXIT] button to return to the Utility Mode.
