bit late. I have had the same problem. I replaced the optical module which solved the problem for me. The optical module is located above the keyboard and is used for scanning the keyboard.

How To Take A Picture Of Screen (W/O A Camera)
On Your Keyboard, Push The Print Screen Button (May Say "PRT SCR"), Nothing Will Happen. Open Paint, Or Some Photo Editing Program - I Recommend Paint - And Go To Edit>Paste. It Should Paste A Picture Of Your Screen. Ready To Be Saved From Paint To Your Computer. Another Trick, If You Hold Alt While You Push The Print Screen Button, It Will Take A Picture Of Just The Active Window You Are On.

I would go and purchase a can of compressed air, open up the electornics, blow out the USB, quarter inch plug-in keys. Dust may have gotton into the system and needs to be removed. You didn't mention, do LED lights come on at any time?

I suspect an internal connector problem, maybe for floppy interface, that seek at boot when turned on.<br />Try to open the keyboard and gently disconnect and reconnect all internal cables (there are dozens). This is a very old model, but i enjoying it even today<br />
