HelloJust unlug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and replugh it after 5 minutes and see whether it helps you. If not, open the TV, and check the fuse on its power board. If found blown up, never insert an other one before rectifying the short in it. In most canses, power board need replacement. You haven,t specified the exact model number of the TV. If it were there, I may have suggest the exact power board, and its picture that will help you to identify the same. OK.

You have to check the back light of your lcd TV. All lcd screen have a back light to illuminate the pixels. you can conform is the back light is faulty or not by watching the lcd screen nearby. Watch can you see any image (negative image) on the screen. you have to look very closely. if you see any image on the screen then the back light or the back light inverter is faulty.

first of all check all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply and back light inverter board.If available then replace these capacitors first.

You have to check the back light inverter board. Normally in lcd monitors you can see three circuit boards. power supply, mother board, and the inverter board. If available then try to replace the inverter board. There are high voltage transformers in this board. There is a chance for its winding get short. You will not get the transformer in open market. Try for the inverter board .

Is this TV a flat panel LCD TV or projection TV?
Flat panel LCD TV does not use projection lamp. Please verify with model number.

Ur tv LCD inverter board it dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.It a long board in shape.

Call LG trade in the broken LCD screen tv.Get some discount for the purcharse of a new tv.Not worth it to replaced the LCD broken screen,because they're limmtted produce,replacing the LCD screen and labors will exceed or same as a new tv.

Contact you LG dealer it may need a software update which can cure this problem.

You have ONE of two possibilities....on the Front panel buttons, you MIGHT have a stuck button or leaky button....

I suspect that if ALL it does is change channels...it would be a channel UP or DOWN button stuck....yes, it can fire up the tv too....But it will dedicate itself to doing only ONE function.

IF you have multiple operations, like changing channels, menu appearing, volume changing....then the MOST likely problem is actually the microprocessor causing the problem....BUT it is STILL possible to have SEVERAL buttons stuck....rare, but possible.

And unfortunately unplugging it won't even help in any of these possibilities....

You have to start with pressing each and every button one at a time and see if the problem stops afterwards....

IF it doesn't, then the next step is to measure the resistance across each button....they should read Infinite ohms.

If any measure lower, the button should be removed and see if the TV acts normally...

IF the buttons are located on a separate board with a plug that can be disconnected, you can just disconnect that while it's acting up and see if the problem disappears.....

If it still misbehaves after this, you NEED to get it to a TV tech for further analysis with a scope.....

This is the Power Board for it. check those 6 electrolytic Capacitors on the right for bulging or splitting. Don't buy it blindly, it's a guess. It can't be done. The DVD remote will be single frequency for that device only and the LG remote for that LG Blu Ray (or series) only. Companies don't make cross-control between makers easy. The only exception is cable and satellite boxes to allow their remote to also control the television.
