Hi Leigh,I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. This machine has a sensor which shuts off the brushbar if something jams it. Once you've checked the cleaner head for obstructions, and removed any threads or hair from the brushbar, you should be able to reset the machine. The easiest way to do this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:http://support.dyson.co.uk/support/dc25/dc25-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/my-brushbar-is-not-rotating/stabiliser-checkThe video below may also help. Following these steps should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).Best wishes,JackDyson Online Customer Supporthttp://www.dyson.com[unremark-end]-->
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. Your cleaner is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brushbar if it gets tangled with a rug fringe, shoelace etc. After making sure the brushbar is free of threads, hair or other obstructions, you'll be able to reset the cleaner and get the brushbar running again. The easiest way to do this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24new/dc24-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/brushbar-not-rotating-reset-checkUse something like the eraser-end of a pencil to depress the reset button, and make sure you push it in firmly until you hear an audible 'click'.Please note, the brushbar will never rotate when the cleaner is standing in the upright position, or if you've turned it off using the silver brush control switch located next to the red on/off switch.By following these steps, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you recommend the best course of action.
Take a look at this... I think that your problem is the filter....at least try and clean the filter before going any further...these filters will plug to the point of shutting the vacuum down if you do not clean them.
I had this problem too with my 2 year old Dyson Ball. The end cap that holds the beater bar in place was broken inside, causing the bar to wobble. I called the phone number that is on the side of the vacuum. Their support person had me turn the vacuum on so she could listen to the sound it was making. She knew immediately what it was. She took my info and is sending replacement parts at no charge! I was AMAZED at how easy this was, and very impressed by their customer service. SO glad I called them rather than taking it to a repair shop!
Try taking the cylender back out and put it back in again carefully to be sure it goes in correctly as they need to sit perfect if they don't they will have next to no suction because it is not sealed properly.
HighnTools had posted this solution - try it.
I
have finally fixed my sister's dyson dc 15 beater bar problem. It was just 2 tiny broken wires
connect to circuit board lead to the beater bar. The wires broke where
they go through the black rubber gommet. You need a torx screwdriver tx 15 to
remove 2 plastic covers to access the wires. When looking at the front of the
vacuum, the gray covers located on the right side of the vacuum. 1 big cover
with a black rubber gasket and other small gray cover is on the rotating ball
area. I hope this solves your problem.
Sounds as though the switch is faulty. your machine shoudl still be under guarantee. If this is the case, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US). Please ensure you have your serial number and proof of purchase available when calling.
Take off the dust collector , put the machine somehwere out in the open air and switch it on if the motor runs up to speed then the probelm is inside the dust collector and it is probably a blocked hepa filter
If the motor does not run clean with the dust collector removed then you need to remove the base plate and check for blockages there
two faults, mainly battery.
A flashing blue light indicates that there is no power, please charge the battery. A flashing amber light indicates that there is no power or a temporary fault (e.g. too hot/cold). A flashing red light indicates that there is a fault, please call the Dyson Helpline.
