To remove write protection: Open Start Menu >> Run, type regedit and press Enter. This will open the registry editor. Navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value to 0 In the Data Value Box, press OK Exit Registry, restart your computer and then re-connect your USB flash drive to your computer.

Videos on memory card can be watched while in camera, but when I try to download to computer it says the card is empty.

Hiii, In my view your card has got corrupted in some aspect, which can be rectified by use of different software available on internet. This software scans entire storage device and delivers the desired data within few minutes of its application. If you find problem finding such software, you can ask me.

Sure, just put a healthy dose of super glue or hot glue from a glue gun all over the internals and jam it back in. It wont hurt it.

Windows 7 will not read SD card

Do you get an error? Does the computer see the card at all? Check in Disk ManagementRight click "Computer", Properties, Manage, Disk Management. Do you see the SD card here, any errors?

My darn Flash Drive

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts if you need more help with this or if i have missed the problem post a reply hope it helps

PNY flash drive will not eject

right click in the bottom toolbar select task manager to see whats runnng in applications also in processes to see whats ticking overit might be your antivrus or another program thats runingalsotry right clicking on it windows explorer select eject also you might have to resore it to default status

Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options

Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies

restore defaults

In XP

Right click on your drive select properties then on customize restore Default in W 7 hope this helps you

I want to add a password to one that's already installed.

Click start click on computer to open you should your drives

C: usually your hard drive D: or E: your cd/dvd drives if you have 2 and your usb drive possibly E:or F:

Click on your usb drive right click in it select new folder option you can name it

Then put all files or data you want to password protect

Right click on the folder select properties then click sharing tab tick in make this folder private box

Another message might appear you do not have a password on this account click yes

User and password account will open for you to put in place a password

This might vary depending on your operating system in XP

Select properties then security tab at learn about access controls at the bottom of the box

Also another option to change permissions click edit

Then click deny then click apply in W7
