Moved into place with frigidaire ceramic top, slide in. I accidentally lean on the control panel and have set the door lock. How do I unset it?

Hello mccuefamily - Is the door lock indicator light glowing? Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the range back on. This will clear most false error codes. If error code still displays on panel, I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. The unit could possibly have a faulty light switch, door latch or EOC.

I cleaned black gas stove

No paint will withstand the heat at that point; those are protected with porcelain when new and they unfortunately will always degrade with time. Porcelain is applied with very high heat but doesn't retain its gloss in service. You might try one of them, on one small area, to see if a 'rust remover' such as Lime Away will somewhat defog them but they will never appear as new once they have been exposed to use.

I have a Frigidaire 30"

Hi

To remove the main top:
1. Lift the front of the main top and disengage the lift and lock rods.
2. Lift the top up and forward.
3. Slide a putty knife between the main top and the control panel to disengage the hold down clips, one on each end.
Hope this helps... Please post back with complete model# if you need more information.

How do I season the griddle that came with my new

This is taken verbatim from page 11 of my Frigidaire Gallery range:
"Seasoning, using and caring for the griddle Before first use: -Wash griddle in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. -Apply a thin coat of vegetable oil to the entire surface (front and back of griddle). -Preheat your oven to 350*F. Place the griddle on the upper rack in your oven. -Bake griddle for 1 hour at 350*F, then turn oven OFF and let cool before removing. -The surface may have a tacky feel to it from the seasoning process. If desired, wash the griddle in hot soapy water, rinse well, and dry completely.
Using the griddle: Remove the center burner grate and carefully replace with the griddle (some models). Preheat the griddle for 5 minutes on medium to medium low setting. Slow preheat ensures even heat distribution during the cooking process. DO NOT preheat the griddle on HI setting. Preheating on HI may warp the griddle and prevent even heat distribution.
After each use: -To prevent rusting, store in a dry place and keep uncovered. -After each use, clean with a stiff brush and hot water only. -Do not clean griddle in the dishwasher. -Dry immediately and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to griddle before storing.

Try pressing in on the handle while you select the cleaning cycle.
It's saying that it cannot engage the safety lock which it needs to do before cranking up the temperature to the ~900 degrees needed to start the catalytic action that does the cleaning.
If the door isn't adjusted well, the lock may not be able to disengage either when the temperature has dropped to a safe level.
Before you try pressing in the door, check around the edges of it to make sure the spacing is the same around it. If you can see discernible differences from left to right or the top isn't close enough, the door may be slightly twisted.

Gas oven doesnt work

Hello there:
Gas oven won't work, Ignitor is glowing Everything in the circuit must have continuity for the oven to fire up. What if the ignitor glows but the oven will still not come on? If the ignitor is glowing that would mean you have a circuit. Solution: Replace the ignitor, even if it comes on. Why? Because 99% of the time the ignitor is weak. When it is working fine it should be so bright you cannot look at it for long. If it is a mellow orange color it is bad, replace it. The only way the gas oven valve would be bad is if it is open and has no continuity. That goes for the control as well. Check out this simple diagram of how a basic gas range operates. glowbar.jpg oven ignitor An ignitor must draw at least 3.5 amps or that safety valve will not open up and release the gas: gas-ignitor-circuit.anim.5. We converted our natural gas range to propane.

Hi,
There is a regulator...usually on the gas line where it enters the range... this needs to be converted also or the gas pressure will be too high...
To convert it the center needs to be turned out and the center flipped over and screwed back in...
This will lower the gas pressure
