Hi.

This happens when the language files stored in your Jensen's memory get damaged. The Sat Nav system will look for new language files on your USB memory, and return the error.

Often the problem happens after formatting the disk.

I suggest to start trying to set language to English.

In theory you are supposed to restore the flash image from original CD or computer backup.

A first attempt to fix the problem can be done resetting the Sat Nav. Just take out the battery for ten seconds.

If you have the original CD, files to be restored are in the IGO folder, and must be copied into the flash disk.


Files to be copied are

• igolaunch.exe
• IGOPATH.TXT
• SettingsBackup.ini
• TAHOMA.TTF
• TAHOMABD.TTF

If that does not work, contact Jensen/Audiovox clicking here, they will enable a download of the language files to replace the damaged ones.

Any luck getting this fixed. Mine is in the same mode and I don't know what to do????

Mine did this a few months after I bought it, it was still under warranty so I sent it back in to Audiovox. They ended up sending me a new unit but it took a pretty long time, their customer service is not very customer friendly... when this one dies I'm going Garmin.

The language files needed for the unit to function (in maps, menus etc) are most likely deleted, missing or corrupted.

Try contacting jensen support they may be able to supply you with files and instructions on how to fix it, if not im sure they will direct you to a dealer / service center.

Go to the product owner website and search for product support you will get all information there.

I'm about to return my Jensen NVX430BT because apparently the maps cannot be updated! The maps installed on the unit I just received are obviously outdated and there is no support from Jensen to get them updated. Too bad, this thing has it all except good directions.

Lets see if we can get your unit first working by a common problem and possibly with a common fix. Try this and let me know if worked. It needs to be rebooted. Turn off, by holding off button down. Then once it is completely off, then turn it on, BUT when you go to turn it on, keep on button depressed, all the way until it turns on and then some for about 15 seconds, now you just rebooted system.



In most cases the touch screen develops a short locking up the screen, the only way to fix the problem is replace the whole touch screen fixture to address the issue, however my experience has shown it is more cost effective to replace the GPS device than having it repaired.

Unplug are power going to the GPS, and leave it disconnected for 30 Min. That will reset it back to normal.

You need to navigate to the Horizon Navigation Online Shop (see Resources for the appropriate download page). Click on the Jensen manufacturer link located on the left menu pane. Choose your particular Jensen GPS model from the menu selection.

Choose the coverage area you wish to update your GPS unit with and choose to download the map updating software or have the software sent to you through the mail in DVD form. Fill out the order form information including your payment method (Visa, MasterCard or American Express are the only payment methods accepted). When you receive the updated software by either download or mail, install the software on your computer.

Follow the instruction prompts provided by the Navmate utility program with regard to updating your particular Jensen GPS unit's map software.

Most likely this may have to do with the fact that some satellites just got shut down... you should probably call Jensen and see if this is the case...

if not, you may not be in a serviceable area... I cannot tell you for sure considering you haven't offered much on the problem...
