Dryer not coming on (code "dr")
Many of the washers and dryers that use digital control have door switches. A non-working (damaged) door switch will prevent the appliance from working. Look up online for a manual for your appliance and see what they show for your unit. If you get the diagram on how to dismantle it to replace the switch you can see if you think you can handle that task.
Then look online for the parts, and compare the cost with your local suppliers.
I just replaced such a switch for a friend. The switch cost locally was $109, but I found a new one online for $45. It took about an hour to change out the old for the new.
E66 Error
Hello samanthaway - Error code E66 indicates that the thermal limiter circuit is open. Base on the intensity of the issue, I suggest contacting a professional technician to accurately repair the unit. Technician will need to check the inlet or outlet thermal limiter for continuity. If the thermal limiter is open, tech will need to check for evidence of high temperature event and any resulting damage. If no further damage is evident, the thermal limited and retest will need to be replaced.
I am trying to use
The control is locked. Press and hold the OPTIONS and SELECT button at the same time for 10 seconds or until "LOC" turns off. To lock the control, press and hold OPTIONS and SELECT until "LOC" is displayed. Unplug the machine for at least 30 minutes if pressing and holding the said buttons does not unlock the control to eliminate the possibility of an electronic glitch. The control may need to be replaced if unplugging the dryer still doesn't solve the problem.
How to remove board
to gain access to the control board you will need to unplug the dryer move it out so you can get behind the dryer, remove the six bolts and the panel will come off. Also, there should be a booklet/wiring diagram in the left corner(back-view). I am assuming that you had a E68, hope this helps Tim
