You should contact Bloomfield to find your local Bloomfield Service vendor. You will need them for parts and/or service. *** the following is for information only as all repairs should be performed by a qualified tech.*** The start switch activates the timer (analog or digital) board which turns on the water feed to the brew tank. This forces previously heated water out and sprayed over the ground coffee in the brew funnel. Coffee then drips into the decanter. * This brewer has a tank that needs to be filled PRIOR to powering up as the heater element usually turns on as soon as it's plugged in. The thermal fuse(s) will blow if tank is not filled. Once filled and powered up. Wait 20 mins then set up a coffee funnel and decanter. Slowly pour in 1 pot of water into the top opening. Do Not splash or over fill! Water should come out of the funnel and fill the pot (full). If it's not hot then the element is not working and this unit will need service. * Check if there is an on/off heater switch on the back or side. (some are 'Vacation' switch) Turn on and wait 20 mins for another pour over brew. If it still does not heat then the limit fuse(s) are blown. * Check the on/off switch. Most models will light up when switched on. * Check the timer. Digital timers tend to be sensitive to electrical storms. Analog timers have a dial and are more tolerant of electrical surges. * If you do get a good heated brew then continue to use as a pour over or hook up the water line to the brewer. (usually a 1/4" copper line with a flare or compression fitting.) * Check the water fill solenoid. Should be a definite click when activated. Water filling sound should be very clear. * No water flow then check the water supply line if it's on. * Final; this brewer needs service. Call your coffee vendor for advice. Aloha, ukboy57

High limit is either the high water sensor or the high heat sensor which I will go with the latter. Why ?

Check the hi-limit or the thermostat.

Sounds like the heating element is bad and may cause a popping noise.Also a loose or shorted wire.

Wht do you need for parts?

A bad thermostat and may be limed up causing the steaming problem.Could also have substantial lime on t-stat probe.

Hope you can help. Water runs though pot but the water is not hot whatsoever. Heating element burned out?

1. You may a clogged reservoir release valve or release mechanism.
2. coffee grounds or coffee oil have clogged the mechanism that slows drainage
3. Also the incorrect filter can cause this issue.

Check amperage on machine: Volts X Wattage. Then multiply by 1.25, that should give you the amperage draw, now check to make sure nothing else is on the same circuit. If no then, the problem is in the brewer wiring there might be a small leak that allows water to get on the wires which is causing the breaker outage.

The detail sheet I got from the supply company that supplies these to McDonald's states that the max temp. of the unit is 140 degrees F.

Try running vinegar thru it. It may take several times. Maybe let the vinegar sit in the tank for a few before starting each time. There might be sediment built up inside the tubes restricting the water flow and shutting down thru thermal protection. And yes there is no water pump it uses the power of steam to move the water thru the system. Let me know if that works.

There might be a crack in the element, or the machine might draw more than 20 amps when heating. Check the label for the wattage, multiply that by the voltage and multiply the result by 1.25, that should give you the amperage needed.

CHECK THE BLACK WIRE COMING OFF THE BOTTOM TERMINAL OF THERMOSTAT FOR VOLTAGE, IT SUPPLIES POWER FOR THE WARMER SWITCHES. THE 'READY TO BREW' LIGHT IS PROBABLY A BAD BULB.

Repairs should be performed by a qualified Bloomfield tech. *** the following is for information only *** * Your brewer has a tank that should have 1-1/2 pots of pre-heated ready to brew water. Pouring in a cold pot of water will push out the heated water into the funnel and over the coffee grounds then into the decanter. This should all start within 15 seconds of pouring water in machine (the top opening) and continue to brew for about 2 mins with a drip out for another minute. If your getting cold or luke warm water out of the brewer then you didn't give it enough time to pre-heat (about 20 mins.) Still not hot? Then call your vendor for service. * If brewer was not pre-filled prior to powering up then the Thermal fuse may have blown due to no water in tank and/or over heating. * Depending if the tank was empty and how hot the element got will determine what blows. * If it was completely dry when plugged in then the element got cherry red hot and may have melted gaskets as well as all the fuses. * Depending on the model, there may be 2 thermal fuses or even a 3d on the thermal blanket. * If the brewer was filled but left on for a long period (weeks?) then the tank just boiled off till the fuse blew. Good chance the element is ok. But have to check to be sure. * Pre-Heated tanks like this unit.usually have a normal load on from the warmer blanket. The load (amps) will kick up on the initial heating of the tank (filled with water) then drop down after reaching temperature. * There is an additional load if any warmers are turned on. * Some brewers have a separate heater switch (some call it a 'Vacation') on/off switch on a brewer will activate the main heater element. Some have a separate switch for the brew warming plate (Blanket stays on all the time) * Easiest way to check is amperage loads on each section. Continuity is a bit harder as it does not tell you if it's shorted (unless you know the resistance loads to begin with) * Final: Get a qualified service tech to check just to be safe. Aloha, ukeboy57
