The Dacor DMT2420S microwave has

There's no reset button, and if the fuse were blown, the oven would be totally dead.

Your problem is almost certainly a failed secondary interlock (bottom door switch) or its mount.

You can see our help file on door switches here and the service manual here.

Microvaves are generally pretty simple to disassemble and open up with just a Phillips screwdriver.

First unplug the power cord and move it to a table or somewhere you can access all sides.

Unscrew the 4 - 8 screws holding the upper and side casing to the base and rear.

Then just lift off the entire cover.

This will expose the internal components and wiring and the exterior of the cooking area.

Clean casing as required but do not touch or get water or cleaning fluid on any electrical components or wiring.

Don't forget to clean the reuseable metal grease filters which are normally located on the underside of the microwave. You will have to remove the rotating glass cooking tray if one is fitted and tip the microwave up to access the underside, then just remove the filters and clean with warm soapy water.

Comment back here to this page if you require further assistance and I will respond.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Model DMT2420S Door latch

Hi,

This method simply allows you to open the door and remove whatever food was trapped in there before you take your microwave to repair center.
***IMPORTANT*** Ensure your microwave is unplugged for at least 5 - 10mins before attempting this.

Remove the housing of your microwave, once you have done this the screws securing the control panel should be visable. After you remove the screws, gently try to lift the control panel from the bottom( underneath) of the panel. Usually there are a couple plastic clips that help to secure the panel to the microwave chassis. There will be electrical wiring connected to the panel but you should be able to move the panel enough to get access to the door mechanism without dissconnecting any leads.
Press the door open button and you will see how the door release mechanism operates.
You can try at this point to lift your door out of the lock.. manually engage the door release mechanism and holding the lower right coner of the door lift upwards. I discovered that my micro door has a manual release for the bottom or lower door tooth with the top is electronically controlled. If you have a blown fuse or busted spring, you may have to unscrew the housing around your door release mechanism simply to give you enough room to manually lift the tooth out of the lock.
Once you remove the housing for the lock you can insert a dull flat object ( screwdriver for eg) and use it to lift the tooth over the lock.

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

Hello my Teka MCX 45.1 BIT microwaves start button not appearing?

Microwaves generally last about 2000 hours before losing power. Here are some basics to try: Make sure the power plug is securely plugged into the wall outlet. Listen for an audible click when you close the door. Unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in (this may reset it). If the start button is then not appearing, there may be a problem with the touchhpad or control panel. Teka's customer service: https://www.teka.com/global/support/
