check the suction hose where it bends down to the floor unit,, lots of times dirt, hair and stuff collects there when the filter was plugged up. remove the floor plate ( like you were going to change the belt ) and use a wire coat hanger to run up the suction hose and back out and clean out any debris, also check the entire hose for blockage ( top to bottom ). if this is all clear and you still have little suction - then the problem could be the vacume motor itself and you will need to take the unit into the repair shop and have the motor rebuilt or replaced.

Excessive motor noise. vacuum works
Are you looking to reduce the noise of the vacuum? It is unlikely that you can do anything to reduce the noise of it. Vacuums tend to be very noisy so the best solution is to buy a quieter vacuum. This vacuum seems to be a popular choice for a quiet solution:

However, this vacuum is considerably more costly than the vacuum you own. A cheaper alternative would be this:

Both of these vacuums have high reviews and have been commended for their noise reduction.

Hi, Have you checked and made sure the floor plate is secure and tight without any gaps around the edges? If that's ok then check the suction hose where it bends down to the floor unit,, lots of times dirt, hair and stuff collects there when the filter was plugged up. remove the floor plate ( like you were going to change the belt ) and use a wire coat hanger to run up the suction hose and back out and clean out any debris, also check the entire hose for blockage ( top to bottom ). if this is all clear and you still have little suction - then the problem could be the vacume motor itself

Hi donbo97,
If the front roller/brush won't spin or slows dramatically when using on carpet, it is often caused by the belt. The easiest way to correct this problem is by inspecting the belt. For additional troubleshooting please follow the steps below.
1. Unplug the machine.
2. Turn the unit over, and remove the bottom plate.
3. You will see a belt on one side or the other of the pulley and beater brush assembly (depending on your model).
4. Check the belt and see if the tension is ok. You should be able to view the belt after removing the sole plate. If the belt is loose you need to replace it.
5. Clean any debris from the brush and the immediate area. Sometimes hair and debris get in the end of the rollers and keep them from turning.
6. If the bearings are stuck, you can spray some lubricant like WD40 and try to free them up.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Has no suction
1. Remove dust collector compartment/s. Look for any filters, remove and clean. (Make sure you DO NOT clean filters with water.) Take filter/s outside and "slap" them against a flat surface. (Filter will be very messy to clean)
2. Replace all filters and compartments.
3. Also try using a wire hanger and try to reach as far down the hose as possible to remove any obstruction/s.
Note: Clean vacuum filters frequently to ensure proper suction.

sounds like an obstruction in the blower motor fan or bad bearings in the blower motor located in the bottom end of the main body
Vacuum wont spin when on carpet but will spin if
Remove the bottom plate of the sweeper. Remove the sweeper brush roller and clean the end bearings of debris. Oil the bearings lightly with 3-1 oil or similar machine oil. Clean the motor shaft with alcohol as well as the brush drive area, and the inside of the drive belt. Test on a carpet for improvement--if still stopping, replace the rubber drive belt. Hope this helps!
