Scanned pictures has thin blue line running through it

I had the same problem with My Espon Perfection V500. I called tech support and they had me do the following sequence.

1. Turn off the unit
2. Unplug the lid from the base
3. Replug in the lid.
4. Turn the unit back on
5. Go into the Epson software in Professional mode, Configuration, Other and select Reset All
6. Rescan the picture.

It worked after that. Of course it also lost all my preset sizes in my Custom box and any other settings I had. I suspect the lid plug is what the problem was.

Another word to the wise. To test it I put in a picture that was laying on my desk and rescanned it and was disappointed to see the line in the result. A few minutes later I discovered that this particular line was in the original picture.

I bought an Epson scanner

hi,
see the power rating on the power pack adapter. Unless otherwise stated,
most come with an international standard of 220v. I bet you can find an adapter with the right capacity that fits your scanner if that doesn't work.
Hope this helps

I am scanning Kodachrome Transparency's

There are manual position settings you can use.
Make sure the film is placed correctly in the film holder and the film holder is properly
positioned on the document table.
Switch to Home Mode or Professional Mode, and preview with the Normal Preview. In the
Preview window, create marquees on the area you want to scan, and then scan.

Also...if all else fails
Try rotating the slide 90 degrees, you can always rotate the saved image afterwards.Ditto flipping over to the other side

.I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

When scanning slides, the scanner crops the top

Try switching slide position in slide holder. A 90 degree turn might help.

Epson Perfection v200 stopped working on my imac

Try to scan using epson scan to isolate the issue. You can launch epson scan from applications. If you can scan using epson scan, call adobe to troubleshoot further on photoshop.
If you get an error epson scan cannot be started or if it won't launch. It could be connection or driver issue.
To uninstall/re-install twain on mac, follow the instructions:
- go to applications. Trash epson scan and epson scanner monitor
- Go to library then application support. Trash epson scanner module.
- Go to library then image capture. Trash twain data sources.
- Go to the hard drive. Click on user. Click on the name of your computer. Click on library. Click on preferences. Click on epson. Trash epson scan.
- Empty the trash.
- Restart your mac.
- Log on to support.epson.com. Type in v200 in the search box on the top right corner of the page then click search. click on the first search result. Click on the drop down box and select macintosh operating system instead of windows. click on the second driver down, epson12527.dmg then click on download now. Select no thanks, i prefer not to receive this information then click accept. Install the epson scan installer after the download.
- Then try to scan using epson scan.
If epson scan won't launch or you get an error, try a different usb cable.

Goodluck.

My scanner will not scan negatives

Most scanners aren't designed to scan negatives. (Of course the manufactures would never want to tell you their product CANT do something).

Flatbed scanners typically have a light on one side.

To scan negatives properly, you need to have a scanner that has a backlight, or a second light in the bed's lid that you fold down.

Canon USA, Inc. make a few flatbed scanners that have backlights. They range from $60 to $180, depending on the features and resolution you want to pay for.

Please see the below link. This is a more expensive one, but is shown just so you get the idea. In the pictures, note specifically in the picture that shows the lid open, how the white backing on the lid can be removed from a clip at the top. Underneath, is the backlight and clips designed to hold negatives in with the included frames.

Computer can't connect to scanner

If you are using Win XP there's another way of testing it with your computer for to check if your scanner is damaged or just a simple
software issue:

Usually for Epson it came with an Application called "Epson Scan"

> with the scanner connected to your Computer try to scan using a diff Application like PhotoShop or MS Paint

> to scan using Paint
Click on Start / All Programs / Accessories ( click and open "Paint" )

> from Paint click on File / and click "From Scanner or Camera" and it will open a scanner wizard., just follow the step by step procedure on how to scan.

note: if you have a diff. imaging devices ( like web cam ) it may ask you which one to use., make sure to select your scanner.

> if it can acquire an image using paint or diff application., there's no issue with the scanner unit.

> if it cannot acquire an image using paint or diff application., your scanner is broken / damaged.

To fix the issue with Epson Scan

> Uninstall "Epson Scan" from Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs / disconnect the scanner unit "USB cable"

> Control Panel / Administrative tools / Services ( look for Windows Image Acquisition < WIA > click on it and restart the service.

> Close all the windows and restart your computer.

Download the Twain Driver from the Epson Website

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=88043&prodoid=63070037&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows

downlad > TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v3.12A
(
epson12526.exe )

note: if you don't have internet you can use the cd that came with scanner...

> after it is installed your computer might restart and then:

> click on Start ( right click on My Computer / left click on Properties ) on the Properties window click on Hardware Tab / Device Manager / on the device manager window look for "Imaging"
under Imaging look for your scanner ( right click on it and click on update driver., select this time only hit next / select Install the software automatically ( recommended ) hit next and it will update your scanner driver.

> Close all windows and Launch Epson Scan

Problem with the size of the image at the scanning process

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

Since you mention altering resolution and scale percentage, you must already be in Professional mode. Given this, there are two other possible reasons I can think of for the problem. One is that your width and height numbers are very small. The other is that you have a very small marquee drawn on the preview image.

The scanner copies three photos as one

Assuming you're using the Epson Scan software, select Home or Professional mode and click Preview. When the preview image appears, draw a marquee around each of the three photos. (Note that as you draw each marquee the number beneath the little image of a marquee - the white square with the dotted line around it - increases.) After drawing your marquees, click the All button, then click Scan. The scanner should make three separate passes in succession, producing three separate images.

Filmy appearance and spots on the underneath of glass

Today I opened my V200 without much problems. First unscrew the two screws under the lid. Then turn the V200 upside down. Lift the base plate up, gently, beginning at the back (a little twisting is needed). Take care not to force anything. It took me 10 minutes. Fold everything open like a suitcase, then clean the glass inside...
To close again start with the front (sort of click system)

Document feed Scanner Glass Scratched

If the scratch is not to deep you can polish it out with lots of  elbow grease and cigarette ashes. Their are also products n the market to polish scratches out of glass. A really light rubbing compound like for 3M might work.

Epson V200 Copy Utility Problem with Incorrect Margin Output

I had the same problem forever and i just sat down today to fix it.
I have a Konica Minolta PagePro 1350w for my printer. The resolution
is set default at 600x1200 when in the Output Paper - Paper setting.
Change the resolution for your printer if you can to 1200x 1200 in the output paper - paper setting in the copy utility software, and
that should solve your problem with this half page copies. It might
still cut off some margins at the very edge, but most of the time they're just
plain paper margin. Hope this helps you out.
