Dometic RM2620 Refrigerator - Page 6 Questions & Answers
No cooling on 12v or gas
Hello,Depending on the age of the unit, it could have a compressor going bad
on it, as the compressor gets hot the valves may not be seating
correctly or may be burning out.
You may have also lost some refrigerant, but I am going to lean more to a bad compressor.
Thanks
Door handle light shock when opened
un plug the fridge prior to opening the door grab desired food option and close the door and then plug the fridge back or stop bein a ***** if its a small shock man up
Last year my dometic rv fridge would run fine on
Here is an interesting possible problem to look in to
First a bit of background on LP gas
Your LP system operates on 1/2 lb of pressure Not much more than a breath of air. Keep this in mind for a minute.
A lot of RV's have been built over the years using rubber hoses to connect LP gas to water heaters, furnaces, and refers.
Over time rubber and LP gas create an oil, if you have a low spot in your rubber line that oil will collect in the low spot - - Remember the 1/2# of pressure from earlier? Does not take a lot of oil build up to over power the 1/2 # of pressure and now you are not getting LP gas to your refer.
This is one possibility. The lines will need to be removed from the refer and other low setting items like the water heater and furnace also from the LP tank regulator and the using NO MORE THAN 10 pounds of air pressure blown out. BE VERY CAREFUL this oil is some really nasty stuff - cover the ends of the lines with a cloth in a plastic bag with some holes poked in the bag and rubber band it on.
But first lets look at some other options
Your refer has to have 12 volt power to it to operate
90+ % of all 12 volt issues are grounding problems.
Make sure you have at least 12 to 13 volts to the refer and that you have a good ground.
Next Are you getting gas flow to the burner?
If you are getting gas try changing your thermocouple They run a couple of buck and is an easy test.
If you have 12 volt power and gas have you noticed an ammoina smell?
This model has been known to lose the cooling unit
Hope this helps

Has leaked out all 'gas' from the cannister to the
If by 'gas' you mean refrigerant, then yes, it can be recharged. However, in order to legally recharge a refrigeration unit with refrigerant you need a special certification from the EPA.
I recommend you get a certified technician to take a look at your refrigerator
Replace dometic with an electric refrigerator?
I'm not sure, maybe but you could try calling All
Seasons RV Appliance Parts & Service they've got cheap recons that you could use. There number is
1-800-344-0673 they have helped me in the past. That and there tech
calls are free so it wouldn't hurt to give them a call.
Dometic refrig. not cooling in lower unit

Dometic RM7291L not effectively cooling on 240V but fine on gas
On the back of the unit, at the bottom, there should be a panel that is removable. Inside should be a fan, the condenser coil, and the compressor. The fan has to be constantly blowing air over the condenser coil, to dissipate the heat (which it is essentially being removed from the refrigerator by the compressor)
When the entire fridge stops cooling, one of three things have happened. The fan isn't removing the heat from the coil, or the compressor isn't compressing the freon, or the freon has somehow leaked out of the system. If it is the fan, you have an easy do it yourself repair. If it is the compressor or the freon, you will probably (but not necessarily) need a professional.
Inside the fridge, there is a coil that is cold instead of hot. A fan must continually blow over that one too, to circulate the air over the cold coils. The fan usually only works when the doors are closed, so be sure to have the door switch pressed to "shut" when checking it.
Check those and post back. And, I know... it really is Dometic.
If the problem is the first one,
Dometic fridge rm2811 not working
did not solve problem, but was uner the impression your help was free. i am a retired lady and do not have a lot of money to spend, so i will keep searching and see if i can find other help
thank you
