Kind of vague but: Most dual supply fridges are selective about where they get power. If you have 120 VAC present, the fridge will by preference take that over 12 VDC. So, disconnect 120 V and try it. Still no solution? Then you have a controller issue. Take your controller model # to the internet to find a replacement.

Sure, but I don't suppose this will do the trick. The fact that is it is "blowing" out is the secret.. It probably is. When the dealer tested it, it would have been parked, probably in the garage. There, there was not a wind to blow it out, like there would have been on the highway. Perhaps you could look underneath and see if a handmade baffle could be made to stop this problem. First, I'm not a Dometic tech. Though I have worked on commercial ice makers. I recommend you call your vendor or MFR for service. Especially if the unit is still under warranty. *** the following is for information only *** * You really got my curiosity peeked when you mentioned "Portable" as most Ice machines are huge monsters! Also as a retired espresso machine tech. I've serviced small Euro type Milk chillers (think the small 'Cola' cute refrigerators used by students.) These chillers usually are 12 volt powered with a separate power 'cube' that plugs in. * I checked several youtube vids for your model and was surprised it's a 110 VAC cord. It's odd that it's a fixed cord as 12 VDC is usually present in RV's which is the target market for this product. I would have expected an "IBM" style plug/connector set up on a unit like this to make the cord replaceable. But apparently not. * Since there was no back views of the unit, I'm guessing it's connected directly through the case panel with a strain relief grommet holding the cord in place (and preventing it from being cut.) You will have to have the unit taken in to have the cord properly replaced. (Wire must be sized correctly, and attached to unit.) *** Following voids warranty and can damage you and equip!*** * Most cases it's a heavy duty appliance cord (Home Depot/Lowes/etc.). Remove the cover nearest the cord or the bottom plate if it's a wrap around case. Check or take a picture of how the cord is attached to the unit. I would suggest stopping at this point and take these pictures show the "Electrical Rep" and have it matched. The rep may recommend you the needed parts I.E.; Cord, Grommets, Crimp lugs, and crimp tool. OR they may suggest otherwise. * If the wires are soldered directly to the board or power supply then it will get trickier as you will need wire cutter, solder paste, solder, soldering iron (rated for this type of work) and of course the replacement cord. * Hopefully it's lug mounted which is pushed on the terminals once the cord wire is stripped and the proper fitted lugs are crimped on. * Another style is also crimped on but then it's mounted using small nut, washer, and bolt to attach it to the terminal. * You might be able to re-use the grommet. Though I recommend it be replaced. Especially if the cord size does not match the original cord. You may have to enlarge the grommet hole in the case to make a larger grommet fit. * Again, This does void the warranty. It's a simple fix for any Technician with an electrical back ground. This one is easy your thermostat is gone. You may notice the unit never shuts off.

For Dometic parts it's usually easy to go through your local RV dealer. Not always the cheapest way, but they'll get the right parts the first time, maybe even have some of what you need on the shelf.

$0 degrees is about right. If you go much lower towards 32 you will have stuff freeze on you in fridge compartment. Maybe your thermostat is shutting off compressor prematurely and you can try replacing it with another.

None of these manual links are good. The only documentation I can find online for the RM2400 is the installation manual. Mine doesn't work. I checked AC power and even ran outside power direct to fridge plug. There is no sound and no cooling. Unlike the other fridges I see online, this one doesn't have a black box or obvious fuses accessible from the bay outside the rv. I'd love to find an actual manual. Nothing works on this fridge and there is nothing online about it. Not even on YouTube. How is that possible?

It could be either.

Change the thermostat

On load, voltage will drop. Look for a variable resistor and adjust the voltage to 13.2V with load.

call domestic manufacturer and ask them fixya site does not do warranty registrations

Try cleaning the condenser.

Take your back cover plate off and check your condenser fan is running or is not plugged up.
