Won't power on

Turning off the power strip should not effect the printer. A power strip is somewhat like an inline on/off switch anyway. Check to see if you have a reset button on the printer? Check the power cords for any damage to the prongs that plug into the wall socket, or the male plug end that goes into the printer electrical port. Make certain the power cord is making perfect contact and not loose. Finally, replace the printers power supply if all else fails. The PS may have simply shorted out and needs replacement, especially if it has been left on for a year or more.

My canon pixma mp 250 will not scan code error

This could be because the ink cartridges may be empty or been replaced with compatible types.
Solution:
You could try to do a reset by pressing and holding the reset button (red triangle) for 5 seconds. If that does not clear the error then try pressing and holding both reset and maintenance (pliers and screwdriver picture) for over 5 seconds. The flashing error code should change to normal counting display digit 1, and the scanner become usable.

Printer says I have an incorrect head, but I never changed it.

First try doing this: Manual Resetting Method for Canon Pixma MP520 The manual for your printer is located here: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/1/0300000381/01/mp520_qsg_us_v1.pdf The troubleshooting for your message (p72) says to remove and replace the print head. If that does not fix it is says the print head is likely damaged and to contact canon support.

Print head not installed

You may have a defective print head. When you lift up the lid does the head move to the center? If so do the ink cartridges light up? If it moves to the center and no lights you need a new head.

No magenta ink, just need to print in black but

Hello.
Hold down the Stop/Reset Button (it has a red triangle on it) on your printer for 10 to 15 seconds until the light stops flashing.
This will disable the ink level monitoring for the empty cartridge, but be careful not to print with a completely empty cartridge, as this can burn out the print head.

Printer screen is lit but blank

This worked for me: 1. Close the display lid as far as possible so you are just able to reach the power button. 2. Power off and back on.

CANON PIXMA MP520 NOT PRINTING BLUE

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.
