Remove the drum unit and toner from the printer. Separate the toner from the drum. Look at the surface of the drum, rotating using the drive sprocket at one end. Look for a mark or foreign material on the surface of the drum in the same position as it is on the printed page. If you find anything, use a clean, dry kleenex tissue folded into a pad to carefully remove the mark and clean the drum. The 3 inches corresponds to the distance around the drum as it rolls down the page. If the mark cannot be removed, the drum should be replaced, it is a consumable that wears out in any case.

Hi, I have the same printer as you. My background is in the development, design and manufacturing of printers. while i didn't have the opportunity of designing the toner system, I do know that doing anything with the corna wire requires that you never touch the wire with your bare hands.Replace the corna wire requires special tools to set the tightness keeping clean in the process. Unfortunately by the time you spend to replace the wire, it would be easier to buy a replacement drum. there are some reasonable cost rebuilt drums sub systems. look on ebay to find them.

It could be a problem with the drum, or more likely the toner cartridge and drum unit are not sitting firmly. If the assembly moves the image transfer will be interupted. Take out the drum and toner, and examine for any loose or damaged moldings. Also examine the surface of the toner cartridge for lines that would indicate the unit is "fluttering". It also occurs that you may be referring to the bottom of the page being cut off - in which case check your paper size setting is correct (i.e. A4 or letter).

This will be the Corona Wire on the drum has broken. Replace the Corona Wire if you are technically minded or replace the drum unit if you are not.

The error light indicates something is wrong with the machine. The error light in combination with another light indicated that the problem lies with that item. If there is an issue with a job not being able to be printed you can press the go button to allow it to continue (Normally happens if you send a job to the printer using paper other than what the printer has in it)

Where is the page stuck. If it is stuck feeding into the machine you can remove the paper tray and pull the page down. If it is stuck after feeding partway through the drum unit you have to pull the drum and toner unit out and pull the page out of that. if it is stuck partway out of the machine open the back of the machine and pull the page free from the fuser and paper output tray. If for any reason the page tears make sure you have all the pieces out of the machine. Do this by reassembling the page on the desk to see that it has all the parts to complete the page.

If you just changed the toner and it will not print, then the clue is the cartridge being defective. Make sure all the shipping tape and ribbons are removed and retry.

This is not any issue with my machine. Take it back to the supplier and get it looked at. Under warranty I hope. Henry

Three possibles for this. 1 A faulty cartridge dropping toner on the paper as it passes through the drum. - remove the toner cartridge and look for lots of loose toner in the drum.2 The drum cylinder is dirty and needs to be cleaned with alcohol and a cotton ball. Toner can build up on the drum cylinder and also the cleaning brush inside the drum assembly. These would need to be cleaned - or replace the drum. And 3 progressively either or both of the above two may have lead to a build up of toner on the fuser at the back of the machine. In very bad cases the teflon type coating on the fuser may have peeled. If the fuser is dirty, it can be removed and cleaned. If it has become damaged - forget it, just buy a new machine.

Check the drum unit. Rotate the optical cylinder slowly, looking for a scratch or clot of toner on the drum. You may need to clean it with compressed air or VERY gently with alcohol and a cotton ball. If the drum cylinder is clear of defects, check the fuser at the back of the machine for the same. A drum can be cleaned or replaced, a trashed fuser is not repairable. It may also be cheaper to replace the machine than to replace the drum of course.

Your Drum Cylinder has a scratch or clot of toner stuck to it. Every time it rotates along the page (usually 4 rotations per A4) it leaves a copy of the defect on the page. If you take the toner cartidge out of the drum unit, you will be able to turn the drum cylinder until you find the fault. Either replace the drum unit or CAREFULLY clean it with alcohol on a cotton ball (meths or iso propoyl will do) in the case of a toner clot. If the fault recurs quickly after cleaning, then you have a damaged drum and it should be replaced. Best of luck.
