Frigidaire frost free upright freezer door corner dripping

Hello Yellow, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire freezer is dripping water out of the corner of the door. It is possible that with your power going out the heat may have caused the gasket to warp. Do you see any frost build-up? The water that is dripping could be coming from condensation within the freezer. I would recommend checking the gasket to see if it is allowing warm air to enter the freezer.

I recommend that you visually inspect the door gasket for defects such as gaps or tears. You can also use a dollar bill to test the door gasket. Place a dollar bill in between the door and the body of the freezer. If the dollar bill pulls out with no to little resistance, you may need to replace the door gasket. A faulty door gasket can allow warm air to enter the compartment and cause frost to condensation or a leak. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

How do I stop freezer from leaking water

A drain plug is a small hole inside your fridge to allow for moisture to escape. The reason its leaking water is because its not cooling the water to ice or its defrosting the ice to water. make sure the door closes shut and turn it up a bit as it has been very hot recently

Bottom basket

Flo, The manual does not say specifically if the basket can be removed or not, but the basket is on rollers. If you can pull the drawer out and tilt upwards, the basket may release. Otherwise, the basket may not be designed to be removed.

Bottom basket in freezer

Flo Shirley, I understand that you are having trouble removing the bottom basket in your Frigidaire freezer. To remove the basket, pull out, and lift up. This basket clips in to the actual glides that hold it at the bottom of the basket. -Best Regards-

Have power but not freezing, cannot hear motor, recently had power outage

Hello max ryan, I understand that you had a power outage and now that power was restored, you have power inside the appliance but the freezer is not freezing and you can't hear the motor running. I would double check the breakers and make sure that they are on. You can also check the Temperature Control and make sure that it is not in the OFF position. If these solutions do not work, I would call the manufacturer for more help. -Best Regards-

Hi Denise, thank you for allowing me to assist you! Did the unit previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will typically sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on the unit. After deactivating the alarm and the unit has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, the freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause. Best regards!

Frigidaire freezer LFFU14F5HWN fan not running or cooling

Hi djgecko - Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:

· First check clearances around your freezer. There must be adequate space around a freezer with a static condenser so that air can circulate properly. Proper clearances include 1" at the back and 3" on top of the unit.

· Examine your doors. If the doors have been opened too often or for too long, this may have allowed warm air to enter the freezer. Make sure to shut the door completely and be sure not to keep the door open for too long. Even leaving a door slightly open can allow too much warm air intake. Make sure the freezer is level and keep food and containers from blocking the door closing.

· Check the door seal. You do this by placing a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet, double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything that may be stopping it from closing. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket. (Most appliance owners can easily do this without any tools or sealant.)

· Check to see if the condenser is dirty. A dirty condenser cannot release heat efficiently into the surrounding air. Cleaning the condenser may be necessary, more if you have animals in the house. If you have condenser coils, they should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. The condenser coils should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust.

· Check for any obstructions to the vent to ensure proper air flow. If the vent is blocked, the air in the freezer will not get cool.

· Double check the freezer control. If the freezer control is set too warm, set freezer control to a colder setting and allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.

If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website.

My gibson upright freezer is not freezing

Hello - From what you have described it sounds like you might be experiencing some form of sealed system issue or a bad door seal. This can include the compressor not working correctly, the evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines not at the correct levels to properly cool. If the compressor is running, humming, or even a little warm then that is typically normal. However if the compressor is running hot, then it is over working and the issue could be before the compressor in the evap fan, coil or coolant lines. Trying checking if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check the door from closing then replace the gasket. If any proves to be ineffective, you would need to contact your manufacturer and then a professional to move forward accurately.

The temperature control keeps flasing

Hi,Can you look behind the food and shelves at the back wall near the bottom, if there is a frost build up on the back wall we have an issue with the defrost system, this would cause poor air flow and loss of cooling. I do not have your model number but I am assuming since it is a frost free unit it has an internal fan. If so is the fan running inside, can you feel air out the vent in the top? If not your fan motor may have gone out. The next thing to check is feel the side walls of the freezer, they should be warm. If they are not the compressor may not be running. Let me know the results of these questions and we can go from there.

Coils frozeup and iced on

Defrost the unit totally so you can see no more ice, may take a day or more with door open, once done, restart the unit, check you can hear the fan running in the freezer, if not, replace fan unit, if you can hear it, the defrost timmer may have failed or the defrost element has gone. If the unit appears to work correctly, dont be fooled, the problem will return, if the unit does not work as it should, regas is required. Hope that helps.

Dont forget to vote for the solution, thankyou

More likely the start relay on the side of the compressor. To find out if this is bad first unplug the refrigerator. Remove the lower cover from your refrigerator http://appliancehelponline.com/referbackpanel.html. Then take the cover off that is on the side of the compressor, you will see wires going to this. Now you should be able to see the start relay plugged on to the side of the compressor and unplug it. Now the best way to tell if it's bad is to shake it. If it rattles, it's bad and needs to be replaced. If not, most of the time it's ok. But rather than saying the compressors bad, you might want to replace it anyways because it does not cost much. A quick check on the compressor is to remove the start relay. You will see 3 pins connect a multi meter set for continuity. You should have continuity between any of the 3 pins. If you do not the compressor is bad. If you replace it and it doesn't work then the compressor is bad and you'll need to call a repairman. (Note that compressors are very costly and are normally not worth fixing). You can enter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com for diagrams and illustrations or to purchase a start relay. A 3 in 1 start relay will also work fine. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.
