I had same problem with this mp3 player bought for 5 euros in china shop. After a headcake on why you couldn't format the mamory because of a lock on it i tryed to update my 1.66 firmware with the 1.68 and averything come fixed.
It would take a long time and the pc will slow down but let it do it and it will go. (i had to do it twice).

the file is called PDP95XX_FWUpgrade_v1.68.exe on google.

i could be ok take the batteries out,then wash out properly with warm water and let it dry out fully near a radiator for a couple of days and try it then. It has worked for me everytime if you have the knowhow and the tools to take it apart then do so it will speed up the whole process

i think there is a virus in your device, so please format your device first , and then reinstall the music files in it. i hope you will get the solution.

bitrate of your mp3 files maybe too high for your player.

If for some reason you would opt for user performed action, then pls try:
1. reset, unplug from the mains for at least an hour and try again;
2. check if there is a slide switch of some sort at the rear of the unit;
3. check if there may be a pinhole somewhere along the bottom of the loading tray where a blunted point safety pin maybe inserted;
4. open the top cover and manually eject the tray;
5. check internally if there is a mechanical problem such as a slipping/cut belt, gears that do not mesh correctly;
6. if the unit has been in use for some time, it may simply need cleaning and re-application of lubricant in the mechanical assembly.

The slider mechanism, depending on the age of the unit and , consists of the small chrome rail, a drive motor, a small gear assembly, and (in some units) a small belt that drives the slider unit via the motor. This small belt causes all sorts of problems. If the belt is broken or slipping, it can cause skipping, dropouts, or simply no start up at all. Are you using the charging cables that came with it? That is a type C. Are you securely attaching the charging cable? A loose connection would keep the battery from charging. If you had a low battery, you would see a red light. That you have no light at all suggests there is no charge left in the battery. I'm not sure the reset will work with no charge which is why you ought to check the cables first. But turn it off and then hold down the Multifunction button for 10 seconds to reset it. Then turn it back on and see what happens. If you can, test the charging cable on aother device. If you have another type C charging cable, try it, just to eliminate a bad cable.
