The Motherboard Installation Guide at the top of the list is a generic manual for all motherboards. The front panel connections are shown on page 28 of the manual. There are two lines of pins. From left to right, the inside line of pins are the Power LED +, Power LED -, Power Switch +, Power Switch -, then the Case Speaker +, Case Speaker -. (The speaker - is next to a Case Fan connector; so there are a couple of blank spots between the speaker + and - pins.) On the line of pins at the edge of the board, again from left to right: HD LED +, HD LED -, Reset Switch -, Reset Switch + . There is no contact on the last pin in this group. I hope this helps. If no lights come on when you plug the laptop into the wall, check the DC supply voltage from the power supply located on the cord you plug into the side of the laptop.

Have you checked the BIOS? The BIOS on this board has a section called Smart Fan. It's in a part of the BIOS called PC Health Status. The fan's response to increased processor temperature is controlled by something called Easy Tune. If the processor is overheating and you can't hear the fan running flat-out to cool it, the RPM needs to be increased. Another thing to check is the heat sink to processor contact. In order to get good heat transfer from the processor to the heat sink the whole top of the processor needs to be coated with a thin film of heat sink compound and the sink needs to be correctly aligned and making good contact with the processor. If all of this proves fruitless, you can set the BIOS to optimized defaults by pressing F7 while in the BIOS. Ultimately, as a last resort you can try F6. Of course, as you're most likely aware, you have to save and restart after each change.

It might just be worth double checking that its not in fact your monitor at fault. you said the the monitor isn't always displaying the picture, but you can hear that the computer is on? You also say you are turning your computer off and on to cure the problem, which of course also power cycles your monitor. When it happens again, power cycle your monitor by turning it off and on to see if the image reappears?

hi this sounds like you might have either a overheating fault or the "switch" ( not a real switch more like a little silver tube looking item) on the motherboard may be at fault, you need to check the CPU heat sink and fan are up to the job, also check the graphics card if you have a separate one, it might be overheating, turn it on with the case open and just check the CPU fan see if is turning fast or even better still access the bios and go to the CPU utility and check the fan ratio there it shouldn't be less than 2500 to 3500 rpm depending on the board and CPU ok...hope this helps please vote thanks

The best thing that you can try is to disconnect everything but the power and the video and plug one item at a time until it stops working. For example if you disconnect everything but the power and the video card and turn it on does it come up?. If so then shut it off and then plug in keyboard and try again. Repeat, meaning turn it back on and if it still works then shut it down and plug in the mouse, etc, etc, etc.. I don't think Gigabyte did any drivers for this motherboard for windows 7. You could try the generic divers on the realtek site. www.realtek.com/downloads Then select the AC97 codes the version 7.094 is the win 7 one. It should work.

A surprise here. This is usually a bad hard drive ,or a bad hard drive connection. Test with a different hard drive, or no hard drive.
