since this is a fairly new radio, your only resource is your manual and schematic. As a Ham you should be able to read them. If you are thinking of installing an aftermarket mic, you don't do this on most ham radios, they are not CBs that you can put a "power mic" on. too much audio input on an FM transceiver can make your transmission unintelligible

Might want to post what kind of radio you are having problem with for better answer. Sounds like it could be several different things.
