Where do i insert a disk in a dall latitude E7440?

It doesn't have a CDRW drive. Only an optional smart card reader slot. You'll have to buy an external USB DVDRW or CDRW drive.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M115. It has a problem with hanging and crashing, more so when I'm online. It's been upgraded from XP to Windows 8. I have IE browser and Chrome browser. IE

It would be helpful if you listed your system specs. That is quite an old laptop to be running windows 8 on and you might need to upgrade your RAM. The original system specs say that laptop shipped with 512MB of RAM so if you haven't upgraded, you should.

How to reinstall windows XP

Your model Toshiba notebook has a SATA hard drive. The problem is that XP installation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on a disk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then, XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP. The FIX. Go into the BIOS and disable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is a IDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows has been installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver), then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive. http://www.fixya.com/support/r4335035-installing_windows_xp_sata_hard_drive

I know the Pheonix bios password for my toshiba laptop, I just don't want them to pop up before windows log on

When your password pops up, put it in and do not hit the enter key, instead use the back space key to erase password and press enter, this should reset it, and bring you into login when you start it again.
