The below fix may or may not work but needs to be followed closely.

1. Boot the Recovery disc or HDD image and select System Recovery Options.
2. Follow the prompts until you get to the menu and then select a command prompt.
3. Copy the \zzimages\zzimages directory for all recovery discs to a temp directory on the hard drive (c:\temp).
4. Change to the Bin directory on the first recovery disc and run "tosimagex /apply c:\temp\preinst.swm 1 c:\ /ref c:\temp\preinst*.swm" without the quotes.

That is it. It will take a long time to copy the files since they are large and a long time to run the image program, half an hour on my computer. Also, based on Imagex syntax, it looks like the "1" in the command above might be replaced with another number for models that come with more then one Windows version on the same recovery media.

Error 10-FC12-0570 on Toshiba satellite This error message means that the recovery utility was not able to read the data from the disc correctly, or wasn't able to write it to the hard drive.
The problem could be with the disc, the CD/DVD drive or the hard drive.


Solution:

Try copying the second disc using another system. If it's impossible: order for a new disc. If you can copy it, try using the copy to do the restore.

Try using a third party disk checker to verify the problem, is or is not, with the hard drive.

The best way would be to load the Windonws Vista discs, format the pc and reinstall.
(Vista Recovery Boot Cd is available free by Microsoft). Download it burn the Image .iso and run that disc. That disc will not restore the OS: run diagnostics on the HDD; once disk check is completed and repaired, proceed with the Recovery disks that you have.

My Toshiba A215 starts up but won't boot from any source_CD,external floppy, hard drive,etc.. I swap memory,CPU,hard drive ,nothing works,have any one got any solution?//

try to remove the battery from the laptop then on the laptop with only power ,if this does not work then try to remove the memory from the laptop by opening the back cover clean it then install the memory back then try to on the laptop if it solves then its fine other wise the problem would be the system board thnkyou

You can download the Audio Driver from the below link. Please open a new Internet Explorer window ,paste the below link in the Address Bar and press the Enter Key to download the file.

You can download the Bluetooth Stack for Windows 7 by Toshiba (32/64) from the below link.

Please download and install it in the Computer. After that restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect.

This should fix the issue.

You should look for the following answers.
(1) Are you operating your laptop in a in a hot and dusty environment (If yes you should know that computers do not like hot and dusty environments and they shut down to avoid a complete burn out of the machine more over the dust particles also can destroy the hardware and block internal fan ventilation ducts in between the CPU and the fan).
(2) When the your laptop PC shuts down place your hand underneath the laptop and try to feel hot spots. If you find areas unusually heated then this is the main cause of the shut down.
(3) If just after the shut down and a good usage the Laptop is cool then underneath than overheating shut down might not be the case.
If you determined that heating is the cause and you cannot change your environment than you should look for other heavy duty laptops that are robustly designed for hot environments.
I do not think that resting the BIOS can cause this.

Take out the battery and try to start from the charger - if it's the same then you had a major hardware failure , most likely your motherboard has died. You need to take it to a repair shop for a precise diagnose and repair.

I am sorry to inform you that there is Absoluteley No Other Way To Do That other than calling the Manufacturer's Support 800 number. They are the ONLY ONE THAT CAN ASSIST YOU IN RESETTING THAT FEATURE.

The charger is too weak, it's incapable of delivering the necessary current. Buy a more powerful one or recharge with the laptop shut down.

Don't waste your time with WMP. Go to Real player .com and down load the free version. It will allow you to download just about any web video and burn it to disk. Have fun and a great day.
