Removing the back cover
Most of the laptops have a separate cover for hard drives and in your case, you have to locate behind the computer, the cover (in actual size of the hard driver), that is where the hard drive is situated. Or else then you have to remove the whole cover to get access to the hard disk. Take caution when removing the cover, you will notice finger-like structures that are holding the two sides together, make sure you do not break one of them....Again take note of the cables that are connected from the motherboard or anywhere in the laptop to the cover, you really need to take note of those so that you can replace them accurately. If you are not sure of how to do this, then get a computer technician who is going to do this for you...at a cost of course
When i start my lap top is say's a a disk read
Remove any CD-ROM disk from the CD-ROM drive.
Disconnect all USB devices.
If your computer has a 3.5" diskette-drive, remove any media from the drive.
Restart.
Your computer is trying to read from your disk-drive,
but it has not been successful, i.e., an "Input/Output Error" (I/O error) has occurred when trying to "read" from your disk-drive.
Find a qualified technician, to see if _any_ of your files can be recovered from your disk-drive.
My problem is, the monitor or display screen is
You might have a bad LCD inverter. Try shining a BRIGHT light onto your screen once it's up and running and see if you can see anything then. If so, either your inverter or your backlight is bad.If there is no image, try connecting to an external monitor and see if you get a picture then. If you do, this would indicate an LCD or screen data cable issue. If you can see nothing on the screen and can get no image to an external monitor, you most likely have a bad video card or video chip.
My laptop's dvd writer does
Check to see if your laptop recognizes it. Right click on 'My Computer' and go to properties. Click Hardware and go to Device Manager. Click on CD/DVD and see if you see yours in there. If not, you will need to get drivers for it.
If you see it, try restarting the laptop. Aside from taking the laptop apart to reseat the drive, it will need to be replaced.
My Acer Aspire 5750 says
If you are getting the Blue Screen of Death, and the No Bootable Device error, that's bad news. The "No Bootable Device" error basically means that your Windows has been messed up, and your PC isn't even recognizing that it has Windows on your hard drive.
This is unfortunately a pretty big problem. I have a pretty good understanding of computers, but if I was in your shoes even I would take it in to Best Buy, Fry's, etc. wherever you bought the laptop. The good news is that if you have only had it for 3 months you are almost definitely under warranty. So, my recommendation is you take it into the store and either have it repaired or get it replaced.
Solving this problem on your own is very involved and difficult, so this is probably your best route. Hope this helps and good luck!
Thanks for using FixYa.

You will need to reboot your computer. While it is booting up press and hold the "ALT" key and then keep tapping F10 at the same time. This will bring you to a screen that says something like "loading files" or "starting recovery". It will ask you how you would like to restore your computer. Choose "Restore to factory default". It should take about 20 minutes and once it's done it will be back to the way it was when you purchased it. It WILL delete all of your data so ensure you have a back up before you do this.
I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!
My acer labtop screen is plain black with a little
One way to solve it is to gather all the things that you need to format and freshly install a new copy of your OS. You will need:
1. Bootable OS installer like Windows XP or Vista
2. Your laptop's driver installer, that is 1 cd installer shipped with your laptop.
A. Insert the Bootable OS Installer to start setup. Just follow the on-screen instructions and choose the option to delete existing partitions if you want a fresh install. If you dont want a fresh install, just install it using the existing partition so you will not be able to format and lose all data.
B. After OS installation is complete, install the drivers from the cd installer for your laptop. If you lost it, download all the drivers from the manufacturer's site. Only download drivers specific for your particular model.
