Frigidaire Stackable model #FEX831CSO door won't open

Unplug the machine and where the lid is latched you can push a piece of wire wire in the same hole it latches through. The wire will bottom out after in the hole about a inch. Push it slightly farther and try raising lid as your pushing. All the lock is is a metal tab that pushes up and down. After time the enclosure it's attached to splits and makes it fail but it can be opened with whatever goes farther in that hole then the latch itself.

My washer/dryer combo Frigidaire washer dosn't spin water out of clothes completely after spin cycles the clothes is still very wet. On the 1st spin cycle drum dosn't spin just makes noise, the 2nd and

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FGX831CS, is not spinning water out of your clothes completely. I see that on the first spin cycle the drum is not spinning and is just making noise, and on the second spin cycle the drum spins to the left very slowly and loudly. First check to see if your washer is overloaded. Try taking some clothes out and spinning them again. Secondly, make sure that the load is not out of balance. Try rearranging the clothes to allow for proper spinning. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

How to reseat the dryer on a fgx831cs dryer

Hi Amy, this is AP! I understand you want to reset your Frigidaire gas laundry center, model FGX831CS. For this particular model laundry center I would recommend turning the breaker to the appliance off for 5-6 minutes, and then turn the breaker back on. This action will reset the laundry center completely for you. If you can provide additional information describing the malfunction or symptoms you are experiencing with your laundry center I may be able to provide more useful troubleshooting or an explanation. Thanks,

Hello, I have a small (condo size) Frigidaire top

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a model MLCE52RCS1 that will, in your words, "no longer drain or spin. There is no humming or other noise at all".

First this is an unusual one...I mean the model. It is a Frigidaire, however it is built by Whirlpool...that is not very common, aside from front load washer's GE had built by Frigidaire. Many times store brands such as Kenmore, Beaumark, Viking and the like are made by large appliance manufacturer's, but it's less common for major manufacturer's to have machines built for them by other manufacturer's as is the case here.

I digress...

Based on these symptoms, I'd suggest you''ll need to check and most likely have to replace the lid switch.

Here`s how you can check it pretty easily...

( this is based on the most common Whirlpool, Estate, Kitchen-Aid, Roper, Kenmore, Inglis top-load washer, not necessarily applicable to ALL...it should apply to yours)

Lift the lid, if you observe the underside of the lid there will be a plastic "strike" or "actuator" that goes into a hole when the lid is closed.

Check the hole where the actuator goes into the cabinet and insure you can see a gray oval shaped piece. If so take a small screw-driver, pen/pencil or something small enough to fit thru the small hole and try activating the switch by pushing it down ( machine must be in spin cycle...advance timer to that position and turn on ). If you don't see it, the switch has likely broken loose and needs to be replaced.

If it start's to function than the switch is not being contacted properly by the actuator on the lid and likely is due to the switch being worn...unless the actuator on the lid is broke, if so there`s the problem.

Make sure the switch is being held in place via the two screws along the side, if they are loose tighten them, if it is broken, it will need to be replaced.

Let me know what you find and we can proceed from there...if necessary. As I said it is likely broke. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

It will not drain the water, took the front off

Can only guess that the switch you refer to is the timer.
In any case here is an exploded view of the contolr panel
The timer is Item # 1 in the digram and orderable through Sears
