I suddenly lost the GPS signal today and could not get it back. All I got was the "No valid GPS signal". My solution was to tap on the GPS satellite bars when in the route map. this brought up the "Status summary page of the TOMTOM.

I then again tapped the satellite bar which brought up the "GPS Status" page. I then tapped the bar labeled "configure".

The radio button next to the option titled "Minutes (dm.m') was selected. I then moved the selection to "Degrees (d.d) and it started working.

I had just downloaded the GPS fix 5 days ago so it is not like this suddenly caused it to stop working.

This may not work for everyone but this is what it took to get mine working.

thats normal- estimate is always higher the units go by speed limits and you shave time off trip units adjust accordingly

First enable bluetooth function under the menu options. (if not bluetooth menu button is seen you will need to tap the "show all menu buttons" button in the menu)

once bluetooth is enabled follow the prompts that the One XL gives you to connect device.
Please make sure your device is in discoverable mode (blinking blue and red) during the process.

From what I understand, you have a 30 day guarantee for the latest update map. That 30 day stretch starts from the day of first use (not the time of purchase). It it is not a store demonstration unit then you still have 15 days. It goes without saying that if the licensed map has not updated within the 30 days period, there is nothing to update. You can however still use the Map Share feature to download the minor map corrections.

I suggest you frequently connect your unit to the calculator and the Tomtom Home software will do the automatic updates. If a new map is issued within your 30 period you will get. Even if you missed it you should console yourself in the knowledge that major map update are not that frequent. You can also buy other maps from Tomtom.

Not unless it has "free updates for life" but that only lasts until the software is updated normally. You can update the maps but it will cost depending on area.

Step 1 Connect the TomTom One XL to your PC using the receiver's USB Cable. Step 2 Launch the TomTom Home software on your PC and log in to your account. Step 3 Click "Tools" and select "Use Latest Map Guarantee" to begin the update.

battery may be flat. connect the external power source. Make sure the external power source is supplying current and does not have a broken wire. this is a common problem

You need to install Tom Tom home on your Computer! Load from the disk or go to their web page to get it!

What do you mean "banning"? go to settings, factory reset but make sure the gps is plugged into power until it is properly reset..

You need to install new navcore for your device,and after that instal maps.

Try other mini usb cable,restart pc try other usb port and check conecctor on your unit.

You can find the access point name under APN in the List of Settings below or obtain it from your mobile network operator.

Check the sound settings in preferrences to see if you have accidently shut the sounds off.

Unless you have free updates for life or subscribed for updates, the only updates you will receive are Satellite Location

It is a faulty speaker.
