Try resetting it. Use a pin or straightened paper clip to push the reset button thru the hole marked "Reset" on the bottom. hold the reset for 15 seconds. then push and hold the power button for 5 seconds to complete the reset. Good luck.

Hi the USB plug at the end gets loose inside and goes bad. Target sells a direct replacement for it.

If you can't find it in their electronics department look in the automotive section. I believe it cost around $17

TomTom Home now has a fix which corrects the stuttering problems with the computer voice needed for the 'text to speech' function on the GO720. Simply plug your device into your computer and have it connect with your computer. You should automatically see a large fix available which will correct the problem. Download it as I did, and the problem is corrected.

TomTom website says that you have to contact them and ship it to them to get it reset.

This is just a guess, but when you reconnected the flat ribbon cable cable to the board, you might have somehow not gotten it centered in the connector.

You don't say how old the unit is, but my best guess is that the battery is shot. They can be purchased on line, and excellent instructions w/photos can be had there as well.

There are good, detailed instructions on line, complete with photos, that you can print out to walk you through the process. just do a search for TomTom battery replacement and you should find it.

The disc is for attaching your unit to the dash. On the glass, you just need to stick the mount to it. Make sure the glass is perfectly clean or the mount and GO720 will eventually fall off. Also the oem mount is just a general pain at best. I went with an aftermarket mount to eliminate the problem.

The GO 720 charges quite slowly when attached to the in-vehicle cigarette lighter cord. If you have a USB attachment (that allows you to connect the GO720 to your computer) just insert the GO720 into the USB cradle - you don't have to turn it on - and let it sit there for about 10 hours. You should see the green light on the GO720 indicating that power is being received. In fact, I don't think you even need to turn on the computer, as power is always fed to the USB circuit. If you see the green light, then the GO720 is being charged. I think your GPS just needs a good charge.

Do you have tom tom home installed on your pc ?

Do you still have the usb cord for your tom tom so you can link it to your pc ?

Basically: 'Change preference' (look for Spanner image Icon) -> Scroll right Arrow until 'Change language' (look for Flags image Icon) -> Select English -> Select an English Voice
To set Home address:

My cellular phone in not compatible with my Tomtom. To verify if your phone is compatible with a particular TT model, go this web page enter your phone model number and you will get a list of all compatible TT units.
The web page is on tomtom USA. If it does not work go your country's page and search there.

if you connect your sat-nav to your computer, and open tomtom home, click the help button and it should say view manual, or something similar

go to tomtom's website and manually download their software. Save it to your HD and run it.

The program should automaticly load the correct drivers and will prompt you when to connect the GPS.

TAKE NOTE of how long you are allowed to get free map updates and make sure you do update the maps before that time expires.

also with my GO720 I skipped an update so instead of the update costing $49 they now want double that because my maps are 2 revisions old.

Press the reset button on base of unit to factory reset and start again enter your home and favourite as you need them Download TomTom Home and back up your unit in case it happens again
