My garmin says it is registeredon the garmin site how can i re register it
I suspect that Garmin would not allow one to re-register one's GPS as this would probably make one elligible for a map update upon said re-registration. If you did indeed just buy the garmin from a reputable dealer, you may contact Garmin and explain your situation - and they should assist you in resolving it.
Not working while in car
Hi, Get a volt meter and check the plug in the car. It should be 12.5 or more. if you don't get anything check the fuses. Check wiring as well.
Why map disapears and picture of computer&gps
It sounds like your basic operating system may have become corrupt in some manner. The picture of the GPS and computer should normally only appear when you connect your GPS to your computer. This will normally let you know that your GPS is synchronized to your computer and is ready for you to copy material over from your computer to your GPS. You can try to reset the GPS to see if that will resolve the issue. There is a reset button on the bottom of your GPS. Turn on your GPS. Then using something that does not have a sharp point, depress the reset button for several seconds, about 10-12 should do it. Your GPS should reset itself and come up with the normal loading screen. If you still have the problem then what you can do is go to the Garmin website and download and install the unit software. If you are unable to connect to your GPS with your computer as it normally would you may have to contact Garmin support to find out how you can reload your unit software.

No, doing a hard reset will NOT reset the password. There are a few methods to reset the password...
Take the unit back to your security location, make sure the antenna is up and it will automatically unlock. You can then change the password to something you remember.
If you are unable to do this for whatever reason, you will need to send the unit to Garmin with an original receipt from a Garmin authorized dealer and they will reset the password for a fee. This is a security feature that Garmin installs into the unit's main software so that the unit cannot be used if it is stolen. There is no 'master' password or reset feature for this.

When encountering errors such as "No Map Data Available" and Garmin Express does not recognize your Garmin nuvi, check to see if your Garmin nuvi is out of storage space from your computer. Solution related to the fact that when brought up as the E: drive in windows there were 0 bytes free space on the Garmin nuvi. To get Garmin Express to recognize a unit which is full, do a search on the Windows Drive (E:) for "gmap" then choose "Open file location" This will get into the hidden ".system" directory. From there, delete the largest file map, such as "gmapprom" (or move this file to your hard drive). Afterward, reboot your computer to have Garmin Express software recognize your Garmin nuvi. On older units, also purchase a microSDHC card to be able to store the newest maps, such as the US & Canada 2.6Gb map file, which will not fit on the internal unit alone or a 2Gb card. The Garmin Express software will recognize 4Gb to 32Gb microSDHC Class 10 or UHS-I cards formatted to FAT32 and install the newest maps automatically to them. Depending where you are, the satellites can be higher or lower in the sky. This means that the garmin in your vehicle may not be able to see the satellites how you have it positioned in your vehicle. Try finding the satellites outside of your vehicle while in Europe. If you can, then the problem is positioning in your vehicle. The satellites are all the same kind no matter where you are.
