Frigidaire FEF366 Electric Kitchen Range - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Do I need to do something other than push the clean button?
Hi Carol Moore, thanks for your inquiry!
From the information you have provided you need assistance using the self-clean feature on your Frigidaire range. Here are some basic steps to starting your self-clean:
1. Remove the racks within your oven.
2. Press Clean.
3. Use the "Up" or "Down" arrows to pick a three or two hour cycle.
4. You should then see a "CLn" on the panel. The door will lock and cleaning will begin.
I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Scratches ceramic stove top
Good Afternoon Friend,
I understand that you have scratches on the ceramic stove top of your Frigidaire rage, model# FEF366. Small scratches do not affect cooking and will become less visible with time. To prevent any further scratches, make sure you do not use any abrasive cleaners. These can scratch your stove top even more. Try not to use cookware with rough bottoms. These can mark or scratch the cooktop surface. Try not sliding any metal or glass across your cooktop. This includes sliding your pans as well. Coarse particles such as salt or sand between cooktop and utensils can cause scratches. Be sure your cooktop surface and bottoms of utensils are clean before usage. I hope this is helpful.
-Best Regards-

F11 code flashing, oven wont come on
Hello Paul, this is Z. Thank you for your inquiry!
If you are receiving an error code F11 on your Frigidaire range, it typically indicates that your range has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). One of the best ways to determine if this is a false error code is to reset the power to your appliance. You can do this by either unplugging it or flipping off the breaker for about ten minutes. If the error code persists, at this moment I would suggest connecting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) or RTD Probe (Resistance Temperature Detector) will need replacing. I hope this information helps to some degree.

What is wrong????
disconnect power, pull off back panel check paperwork for fuse location if that is not broken then a simple solution I found to work on other display screens for my parents oven was to take the circuit boards ribbons(parallel lines for coding to pass through like an old school computer and simply remove and re attach this most of the time can solve this type of issue just be careful not to damage anything else). if you have any questions just ask.

Loud pop from Range, stove top still works
The pop was a shorted wire.
The short drew sudden over-amp at breaker.
Amps = heat.
Breaker senses heat and trips before wire to oven is damaged, and before the arcing short can cause a fire.
Was the short at the element?
I don't know, but sounds like the circuit board was damaged.
Of course they are putting electronics inside all appliances today instead of old mechanical dial, because it's cheaper or so much prettier... but new appliances more vulnerable to surge, and other electrical failures. Which is true for all 240V appliances not protected by whole house surge protector.
To test element.
Remove element.
Use a continuity tester across the element connections.
If there is continuity, then the element is probably functional.
Use a multimeter across same element, set multimeter to read ohms.
240 Volt, 3500 watt element should be about 16 ohms.
4500 watt about 12-13 ohms
Volts squared divided by watts = ohms
57,600 divided by 4500 watt = 12.8 ohms

I would guess that the short fried the circuit board, but there is a also a shorted wire somewhere that is still bare and dangerous while power is ON and you are touching oven or stove, unless 240V breaker is GFCI or arc fault, which probably not. Especially dangerous if you are moving stuff around trying to find problem while power is ON.

My frigidaire does not heat consistently. F10
Good
Morning Irene, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
The F10 and
F30 error codes are in regards to an open or failed oven sensor. If the sensor
and EOC has been replaced, more than likely a professional would need to
inspect the wiring harness between the EOC and sensor.
Best
regards!

Frigidaire ples389dcc range stopped working. No
Hi Frank, thank you for your post! I understand that your
range is inoperable. Let's try reprogramming the range by either flipping the
household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. It is important to wait roughly
ten minutes and then turn the appliance on. If resetting the power does not
correct the issue, your range could be experiencing a communication error with
the EOC (electronic oven control, a potential wiring failure, or faulty power
supply. am fairly confident that an authorized
service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating
condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the
manufacturer website.
Thanks for allowing me the
opportunity to assist you!

My hot surface indicator light stays on. How do I get it to turn off?
Hello Mark Miles - Try reprogramming the range by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If issue persists, contact a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the range. The unit could possibly have a faulty light switch, wiring failure or a communication error with the EOC (electronic oven control).
